Hello Thomas! I see you're back from the shop.
Thomas
I am. But I've been stripped of my duties!
Edward
Why's that?
Thomas
Sir Topham Hatt is sending me to Brendam Docks to shunt trucks around the yard. And I can't pull the shuttle to Elsbridge harbor anymore.
Edward
That's not so bad.
Thomas
It's worse than you think. Pulling the Elsbridge shuttle was my favorite job since coming here. I was made to pull trains! And I'd be honest, I really dislike shunting stock around yards. I want to pull trains, not throw them together to watch them leave.
Edward
We all have to start somewhere, don't we? I was a station pilot when the Sodor railway first opened. When Gordon, that big A1 Pacific first came to Sodor, I shunted all of his trains for him!
Thomas
But I don't want to shunt!
Edward
You gotta do what you gotta do, Thomas.
Thomas just glares at Edward.
Edward
Also, I assume you didn't know, but after you went to the shop, Sir Topham bought a green tank engine to do your shuttle duties!
Thomas
Green tank engine?
Edward
Yes. He's named Percy. And he's quite the cheek.
Percy puffs into the Tidmouth yard.
Edward
Oh! Here he is now!
Percy
Hello there! You must be Thomas!
Thomas
Yes. I am Thomas.
Percy
Guess what, I'm doing your shuttle duties to Elsbridge Harbor! Aren't you jealous?
Thomas just glares at Percy and puffs away to Brendam Docks where he is needed.
Percy
Oh! How rude, he didn't even bother to respond!
Edward
I wouldn't recommend teasing Thomas, you know.
Percy
Why?
Edward
I just don't recommend it. He's unhappy about being sent to shunt at Brendam Docks, and your teasing doesn't really help him one bit.
Percy
You just have no sense of humor, do you? Hmph!
Percy puffs away, with an angry look on his face.
