Thomas arrives at Brendam Docks to start his shunting duties.
unfortunately, this is where the screenplay ends. while the rest of the story has been lost in my head, i can say what was supposed to come next.
you would have gotten to see thomas and percy be rivals toward eachother, which was eventually changed to thomas and percy having a rickety start as their rivalry did not make a lot of sense.
thomas also had a crash in the ffarquhar quarry after some trucks decided to hold him back.
the way thomas would have gotten the branch to ffarquhar in this version would have had him rescue a passenger train in a raging storm double headed by edward & james. i later decided it was james only because edward would have pushed on regardless if he broke down or not, james wouldn't have, as proved in 'edward's exploit.'
thomas would have broken down while rescuing the train in the process, but having come so far, he puts himself aside to bring the train to vicarstown and willingly tears himself apart in the process just to help another engine.
the train was also going to be really heavy as a bunch of people got on and crammed themselves inside the coaches, as all of them were rushing home to avoid the raging storm (and hopefully avoid a potential flood as well.)
