In times of need, we all need somebody to lean on. It may be a friend, a parent or sometimes a complete stranger. But for Payten, it just so happens to be her best friend, aka her old crush.

The Universe works in weird ways. And sometimes, the Universe can be cruel. It can take people from us just as fast as they gave them. And the sad point is, everybody thinks it won't happen to them, that they are safe from the heartbreak and the pain that comes afterwards. That out of 7 billion people, they won't be chosen. Until they are.
Payten Sinclair-Larson was a gentle and kind person. She always donated to charity, always helped elderly people cross the street and volunteered endlessly for her community. She did everything right, yet she was wronged. One fateful night, she wakes up to knocks on her door. When she reaches the door and swings it open, she's met with two police officers, and as they greet her, they pull their hats from off their head.
Adam Fantilli dropped everything when he got the call that Paytens husband had died. He immediately rushed to her side, as he always did since they were kids. He held her as she sobbed over her late husband and took care of her as she grieved. It was the only thing he could do for her in this sorrowful time. When the funeral takes place a few weeks after Aleksanders death, he's there with her, holding her up.
Then, back home after the funeral, Payten finds out she's pregnant, with her dead husbands baby. With a swirling mind and upset stomach from the news, she decides not to tell anybody just yet. But the one person she can't keep secrets from is sitting on her couch waiting for her.
When Payten confides in Adam about the news, he immediately supports whatever decision she makes. And he tells her that he'll be there for her no matter what. Later on, he suggests that he move in to help support her through this tough time, she doesn't have to think twice before saying yes.
But what happens when old feelings arise and come to light again? Will they finally be revealed or will they be shoved down again? But the biggest question is, what does this baby mean for the both of them moving forward?
