Payten & Adam

As they sat in yet another lobby, Payten didn't bounce her leg near as much. She was too busy looking at the walls, reading the posters. She watched as new moms or soon-to-be moms came in and out, and saw the little eyes of the boys and girls with them.

"Payten Larson?" A nurse peeked her head into the lobby, and Payten stood up. "You may come this way." Payten reached her hand out to Adam, who hesitated only for a split second before grabbing it and walking with her.

"The OB will be in shortly, you may change into this if you like but it's not necessary." The nurse handed Payten a paper dress, and then promptly left the room.

Payten sat up on the patient table, Adam walking over to the window behind Paytens head.

"Uh, where do you want me?" Adam coughed and asked, slightly uncomfortable. When he sat in the lobby, he figured that's where he'd be for the duration of the appointment. He wasn't sure that being in the room was where he should be, but when Payten reached her hand out to him in the lobby, he wasn't going to say no.

"Up there is fine, or you can come around to the side over here." Payten gestured to the left side of the table, and that's where Adam went. A few moments pass, them both looking around the room.

"I'm gonna go find the bathroom, I'll be right back okay?" Adam blurted out, and Payten nodded. He walked towards the door and left the room, taking a deep breath before heading to find a wash room.

It wasn't long until there was a knock on the door and the OB walked in. They went over the usual introductory questions. Payten wanted Adam to come back desperately so she did not feel so alone, but she had a nagging thought at the back of her mind. It should be Aleksander here with her. That was a fact that both her and Adam knew, but never dared to speak it.

"So, let's get to the part you came here for." Dr. Samar clapped her hands together and scooted over to where the machine sat. She wheeled it back over to beside bed. "If you want to just scoot your shirt up, now I'll be honest, some patients find the gel relaxing and warm but most find it cold."
