I know that Mommy and I still have a long way before I can say I love her and feel no bitterness or ache. It would take a slow time before I could fully do it. But because Mommy suddenly changed, I felt like I, too, changed. I thought everything was past us. Yet, I wonder, still, why things became the way they were despite being happy now. So, I knew I hadn't moved on.
After all, standing after a long and strong typhoon was not easy.
But the sun still shined on you.
So, I was doing my best to forgive Mommy after the typhoon since I could see a glimpse of the sun's rays.
As of now, I am focused on my orgs and school. Just before my term ended, my first-ever org told me that we'd hold another donation drive for kids again. This time, we were not just giving food, clothes, and books, we would have a day to interact with them too. So, the internals team drafted an outline of the day when we'd do the event. The board of officers of my org accepted it.
Now, I am answering my final exam for the term. I had some minutes left before the time ended, but I was finished triple-checking my paper. So, I left early.
I walked into the empty hallway and went down. Pupunta na ako ngayong Kanto Freestyle to eat lunch with Kalon. He had time today, may meeting daw ang mga prof niya, kaya maaga siyang makauuwi.
He was holding a drink and his phone on the other hand. Wala siyang dalang bag.
"Jace!" I called.
He turned as I saw a white thing stuck on his ear. Ah, naka-earphones nga.
My friend smiled at me as he pressed something on his phone.
"Ano na? We haven't eaten again, tagal na no'ng huli. Kakain ako ngayon, kain tayo? Dami kong kuwento," sunod-sunod niyang sabi.
"Kakain ako with someone, e, next time. Tapos na class mo?" we walked together as I answered.
"Yeah, I just had one today, hassle nga, e."
"Oh, kaya ka walang bag."
Tumango siya. "You're eating with someone, ibig sabihin, hindi friends, kasi, usually, people say friends if friends ang kasama. So, sino 'yan, huh?" makahulugan niyang tanong.
"Just someone, secret muna," I said.
"Corny naman, secret pa. It's halata, boyfriend, 'no?" Jace's brows lifted.
"Secret," nakangiti kong sabi paglabas namin ng campus.
"Dali na, hindi tayo makapagkukuwentuhan today, at least, update me!" he urged.
"Bukas, kain tayo, saka ko sasabihin sa 'yo," wika ko.
"Wala akong class tomorrow, I finished all my exams na, so I don't have classes na this week."
"Oh, really?"
It was only Wednesday, pero tapos na siya sa lahat ng exams niya? I guess, mas maaga silang magpa-exam. Or baka may practical exams siya na natapos na talaga before this week came.
Habang patuloy kaming nag-uusap ni Jace, I realized that he was going the same direction as me.
So, I told him, "hey, dito ka ba talaga papunta?"
"Yeah, sa Kanto ako kakain, why?" sagot niya.
"Oh? Do'n din ako, e."
