Higuchi Ichiyo | The Partner

You made it to the place where you were instructed to meet him, looking up at the huge black towers in the sky. You open the big doors and to your surprise, there is already someone standing there waiting for you.

"I am Higuchi Ichiyou! I am a member of the Port Mafia. State your business." The blonde said.

"Hello, I'm here to speak with Akutagawa." 

"Akutagawa is currently unavailable, may I know the reason for your meeting?"

"He's my new boss!" As you say this the blonde looks at you with wide eyes.

"He did mention that someone would be joining the ranks." She replied back. "May I know your name so i could pass it on to him?"

"Y/N"

"I see. I'll pass it on."

You notice that she does not take her eyes off of you. Her glare is intense, yet there's an unsettling calm about her.

After a few seconds of silence, she finally speaks up.

"How old are you?"

"Huh?"

The woman's expression does not change at all. Her stare is cold and unwavering.

"I am asking your age," She repeated clearly.

"WHY!" You were starting to get annoyed at her.

"I am asking a simple question, there is no reason to shout." She replied calmly.

You notice her take a step closer to you, invading your personal space. "May I ask another question?"

"No. Now take me to him."

She sighs.

"Your response is rather interesting. You're rather bold to refuse to answer my question."

She starts walking towards the huge set of black doors.

"Follow me, I will take you to him," She said, not even bothering to turn around to check if you were following her.

You followed her through the black maze of the Port Mafia, a maze of endless stairs and hallways all painted in a depressing color of black.

After a long walk, you finally reach a large, black, wooden door.

"We are here." She said, stopping in front of the door.

Akutagawa was sitting down, staring into space before he looked up at the two of you. "Hello, Y/N. Please sit." You followed his instructions and Higuchi was about to leave when he called her name. "You too, sit."

She looked surprised when he said that. He doesn't normally allow people to stay during one-on-one meetings with others.

However, she quickly composed herself before sitting down next to him.

The three of you sit in silence, no one bothering to fill the silence.

"This is your new teammate, Y/N. She will be working closely with you, Higuchi." 

"Yes sir!" She said although you could tell she didn't like the idea.

Higuchi stayed silent for a couple of seconds before speaking up.

"So she'll just be another disposable pawn?" She asked in a rather cold, disinterested tone.

"Just the opposite." He glared at her. "I expect you to take her under your wing." 

"Of course, sir," Higuchi answered, still a bit reluctant. "It'll be a pleasure... to teach her my ways," She said, the first glimpse of a cold smile creeping across her lips.
