San feels as if he just started taking his first steps into the world. It's a really weird feeling, unknown and the safety that usually wrapped him all the time was now breaking slowly yet surely by the simple fact that last night, he really did kept quiet and listened to what Wooyoung had to say. For the first time in years, he simply didn't snap at him. Thoughts kept him up till later in the night though. Maybe he was in fact too tired to actually fight with him after he took his shower, but as much as he tried flipping this thought on all sides, there was no way in hell fatigue made him shut up. He genuinely wanted to listen and he did. But Wooyoung's words and the sadness in his tone as he spoke almost made him unable to finish his dinner.
Were you expecting a pat on your head to thank you for such kind words?
At the end of the day, they were both at fault here, but a big part of him blamed himself for starting this whole dispute because of his dumb social anxiety from back then. He blamed the meds too, but as he thought about it, it wasn't that hard to talk to the younger once he adjusted to them. He simply chickened out and since neither of them communicated with each other and if it weren't for the big move into separate apartments and if it weren't for Yunho and Yeosang to actually agree to switch places with them and if it weren't also for the sake of their group, San was sure they would have never talked it out. He did in fact wonder if they would talk that week, since he locked himself in his own room while Wooyoung did the same, but he was glad the younger started talking first. He had no guts to even bring up the subject.
Around four in the morning, San's eyes finally started getting heavier and heavier and before he knew it, he was drifting into dreamland.
The loud alarm wakes him up five hours later, crushing his eardrums with pure joy. He groans lightly and smacks a finger across the screen, eyes still closed, face half buried into the pillow. Why could they never have more days off? Why did they always have to work and work and work and work and work? He wants to sleep for days, he wants to do nothing but chill in his bed and maybe go to the gym, he wants to go home for a few days too, see his family, play with his beloved cat, watch the sea and relax by the beach... Instead of that, San has to wake up an hour earlier, eat something in a hurry, get himself a decaf coffee and pretend to have slept like a normal human being while he got ready for a new day of practice. He sighs loudly and pushes the blanket off him with force, kicking it with his left foot that brings it down on the floor.
At least it's sunny and warm today, he thinks while he looks outside at the building across from his window which was drowned in orange.
He hears movement outside his room as well, sign Wooyoung is awake too. Despite his heart feeling a bit lighter after their talk and mutual agreement to start things over, he still feels weird and anxious that maybe, just maybe, Wooyoung wouldn't want to be his friend after everything that happened between them. He would get it totally, after his horrible behavior, but even if he asked the younger why he wanted to still try be friends, the only answer he got was Wooyoung shrugging his shoulders and telling him that's just how he was.
Another sigh leaves his throat and San proceeds to make his way towards the door. A deep breath, followed by another brings his courage up to finally open the door.
Strong smell of coffee lingers in the whole apartment, making San feel as if he just step foot in a coffee shop. Wooyoung hums to some song in the kitchen, the coffee machine going crazy at grinding coffee beans while the younger is making himself busy with the fridge.
"Morning." San rubs one eye and stops in the doorway.
"Oh!" Wooyoung's pale face appears from behind the door. A combination of surprise and confusion is written all over him, but then his lips curl into a soft smile. "Morning." His two-toned hair is tied in a little pony tail, revealing the blond part fully.
