The cool air from the studio whips at his forehead as he lays down on the small black sofa. Hongjoong's small back is facing him, he is also wearing his headphones and as he frantically types at his keyboard, his head moves to a beat Seonghwa isn't able to hear at all. He decided to spend the night here, or how much his best friend will stay here actually. The atmosphere back home has been weird ever since last night and as much as he wants to help, he has no place in whatever Mingi and Yunho have going on. He can't lie, he is indeed worried, especially now that the pink haired is injured before the tour begins. He has a feeling the company will make Mingi sit out of the first concert, due to his injury, but his health is a priority now. All they can do is hope he recovers quickly.
He decided that spending the night with Hongjoong in his studio is a better option than assisting to the crisis between those two. He really hopes they'll figure it out quickly because it pained him to see Mingi this broken last night. He sighs loudly and runs his fingers through his hair. His eyes remain fixed up on the ceiling. It's a very weird thing to see his friends hurt so much due to love. First is was San, who, even if he tried to be as subtle as he could, was quite obvious to him at least. He never said anything, but he figured it quickly from the long looks or anxious behavior that he wished to say something but couldn't. Then it was Mingi, who painfully fell for his best friend and broke down in the bathroom barely twenty four hours ago. It feels as if it happened last year, but barely a day has passed since he found himself on the floor to soothe him. It's really weird, because he never felt this way with Hongjoong.
His eyes trail over to his best friend.
They have a weird friendship going on, a really weird one if he is to think about it more. Actually, if he ponders over the idea more, they are not just friends. Hongjoong is someone he loves dearly, the younger knows it too, he heard his words not once, not twice, but countless of times. Hongjoong is someone he will have for a long time in his life, someone whom he will see growing old even if they are far away from each other at some point in their lives. But not once in these years, has he felt something fighting inside him when he looked at Hongjoong, or touched him or kissed him.
Maybe he's the weird one here.
But Hongjoong isn't any different from him. They talked about it a lot of times and each time they reached the same conclusion.
They could never fall in love with each other even if they wanted to.
Maybe they really are the weird ones in this group of theirs.
The sound of Hongjoong spinning in his chair gets his attention. He's no longer with the headphones on, but he looks deep in thoughts as he stares up at the ceiling. Seonghwa looks at him without blinking. Hongjoong is what his mother would call the perfect partner in life. He's kind, has a warm heart, he's funny, he makes his days brighter when he feels down, he's always there for him, he genuinely changed Seonghwa as a person in all these years, yet...
"Do you think it's weird we never fell for each other after all these years?" He asks all of a sudden, making the younger stop abruptly along with the chair. The blue haired spins around until he faces him and frowns in confusion. Seonghwa props himself on his elbow and looks up at him. "I mean..." He chuckles more to himself. "Everybody seems to be falling in love these days."
"What are you talking about?"
He didn't tell Hongjoong about Mingi yet, he figured it would be better to keep this one to himself. He doesn't want the younger to think he is a snitch when it comes to these kind of stuff. But it's Hongjoong, and as a leader, he does have the right to know if his members have issues between them.
"It's about Mingi." He sighs and sits up. Crossing his legs, he looks back at Hongjoong. Worry fills his lovely features. The younger scared the shit out of him today, he's never seen Hongjoong this stressed at all. They cut practice short, none of them were really able to concentrate after Mingi was taken to the hospital in a rush. "I found him crying last night in the bathroom. Guess why he was crying?"
