I couldn't sleep last night with excitement and was in a dilemma about whether to propose to Margot before the event or after. Before buying the ring, I planned to propose to her after the event, but since it's in my pocket, I feel like I wouldn't be able to stop myself after the event.

I contemplated and concluded that I should make her morning special on her special day and that I should propose to her during breakfast. I observed the dawn breaking through the dark, shadowy night. I climbed out of bed and tiptoed to the kitchen.

I made her favorite breakfast and kept the blue box in a nearby drawer. I stood there for a few moments, and I was once again in a dilemma about whether to give her the ring along with breakfast or after breakfast. While I was looking at the breakfast tray with one hand in the drawer, I heard the door creak open.

I immediately turned around and closed the drawer with a bang in confusion. Margot was wearing my shirt; her hair was messy, and she was half asleep. She walked up to me and asked. "What were you staring at, pancakes?"

I didn't know how to respond so whatever came into my mouth, I vomited the words. "I was trying to eat with my eyes."

Margot's eyes widened and her sleep was far away now. "What did you just say?"

I shrugged my head. "What did I say?"

Margot pointed at me. "You have said something very bizarre."

I sighed and asked. "You want a freshly cooked breakfast?"

Margot smiled and nodded. "I am already a spoiled girl, and you are trying very hard so that I will remain the same."

While serving her. "I think you are the most responsible girl I have ever seen."

Margot shoved in her mouth a pancake full of syrup. "What is happening here? I mean, first the breakfast, and now you are buttering me."

A rush of exhilaration coursed through me, and I immediately opened the drawer, took out the blue box, and kept it on the counter.

Margot stopped chewing. And looked at me. "If it is what I am thinking so..."

I shook my head. "Just open it."

The buzz was reflected in my voice. Margot immediately swallowed what was in her mouth and then picked up the blue box. "No..no no no...... damn, Kev."

I squinted. "Okay, I didn't see this DAMN KEV coming."

Margot stood up. "What am I going to tell everyone that I was wearing my boyfriend's shirt, my mouth was full of pancakes, and my hair was a disaster?"

I sighed. "So, you are rejecting my proposal just because you are not wearing make-up and a dress?"

Margot started massaging the back of her head. "What?"

I shot up my shoulders. "Yeah, if you are rejecting Kev Moller, then you should come up with some solid reason but these petty ones."

Margot shook her head. "Who is rejecting the proposal?"

I again asked. "Are you sure you are not rejecting me?"

Margot immediately responded. "Why would I reject..."

I didn't even let her complete it and I held her hands. "Miss Margot Parker, I don't care what you are wearing; I don't care what your hair looks like; and in the end, I don't care what others would say about the damn story. At this moment, I am asking, WILL YOU MARRY ME?"

Margot covered her mouth with both hands and nodded.

I reminded her. "I need words, baby."

Tears rolled down her cheeks and she whispered. "Yes, I'll marry you, Kev Moller."

I took the box from her hands and slipped the ring into her fingers. I sealed the deal by kissing the ring when she was wearing it on her finger. "Now you have been locked in my world forever."

Margot chuckled and then we kissed. "I love you, Kev."

"I love you more."

When we arrived at the event, we held hands. We were feeling a buzz of joy, thrill, and love all around us. Whispers were all around us and we were smiling for the cameras. We stopped the whispers when we kissed in front of the media all around us.

Margot showed her ring to the media and then we headed inside for the event. It felt like we were stepping into a new chapter of life when we were crossing a neon-lit tunnel. The news of our engagement reached inside before we reached.

Everyone congratulates us. Her friends slash teammates came and saw the ring. Alyssa looked at Justine. "See, I told you."

Justine ran his hands through his hair. "Yeah, yeah. You were right, smarty."

Gretchen announced. "Guys, I knew about all this."

Blaine looked at Gretchen. "We all knew about them, so you were not the only smart person on the team."

Carter in his low voice. "Congratulate you both."

We thanked everybody and then Blake asked. "Are you guys planning to tell us about the wedding or one day we'll get the surprise you got married?"

Margot shook her head. "Nothing has been decided yet."

Blake tilted his head. "Don't forget to inform us; all I want."

Margot kept her hand on Blake's shoulder. "You'll be the first one to know about our wedding."

Blake nodded, and then he turned to me. "Where is that guy who told me that he has no plans to get married anytime soon?"

Margot swatted at Blake's shoulder. "Don't make fun of my fiance."

Everyone started, wohoo. We all laughed and then I excused myself and started looking for my best friend. I knew Margot must have invited Renna and instead of our cold war, Renna would come to an event. She was standing with Ian, holding a drink in her hand. I mustered up the courage and walked up to her. I cleared my throat to get her attention. Renna and Ian looked at me. "Can we talk, Renna?"

Renna raised her brows. "I don't want to talk to you; in fact, I don't want to see your fucking face. I am here because Margot insisted me to come."

I asked. "Alright, then don't look at me; all I want is for you to listen."

Renna pointed at me. "If you don't go, then I'll leave, and you will have to explain this to Margot."

Ian intervened. "He, being a bigger person, came to talk so at least give him a chance to talk, Love."

Renna shook her head. "I am not going to give him any chance because he ruined my chance to get proposed to by you. I confessed my love for you while explaining to him how real I feel about you."

I sighed. "And you did it again."

Renna looked at me with anger. "You are the perfect example of being an ass."

Ian held her in his arms and chuckled. I sighed and finally told her that I had been dying to tell her. "I know the way I handled the situation was wrong but trust me, I had no intentions to harm your relationship with Ian."

Renna squinted. "You still need to say the word SORRY."

I nodded. "I am sorry, but I was worried about you. I didn't mean whatever I vomited that day."

I added. "And now I know you are in good and safe hands, so I won't pick up any phone calls, fearing what Renna has done now."

Renna muttered. "You, jerk, get out of here."

I winked and walked back to Margot.
