Francesco
The moment I received the call, suspicion grew inside of me. Earlier Andrea mentioned that they would come to pick us up tomorrow morning, but now they just sent a car to pick us up telling that it was unsafe to stay out all night.
I quickly asked the others to follow along, so we could get home quicker.
The moment I placed my hand on the nod, I heard a familiar sound of a clock ticking. It was most definitely a bomb. And if my ears are hearing correctly, then we have about 5 seconds to run.
I immediately push all of them back, trying to get them as far away from the blast as possible.
"Get awa-" before I could finish my sentence, BANG!
I feel my body lift up from the ground, a huge force pushing my body backwards as a ring continues to buzz in my ears.
I crash against something firm, possibly the wall or maybe a nearby tree, all the air is knocked out of my lungs as the air around me starts to feel heavier.
The only thought running in my head is that hopefully everyone is safe, I can't live if any of the others get hurt.
I try to move my body, starting with my fingers, but I can't. I'm not able to move anything.
Silence rings in my ears as I force myself to peel my eyes open, but the impact on my body is making it impossible to do so.
I don't know for how long I stayed there until I managed to finally open my eyes, squinting my eyes and trying to focus on everything around.
I've probably sprained my wrist, maybe dislocated my shoulder from the impact. I'm not really sure.
I use the remaining strength in my body to lift myself up from the ground, wincing at the muscular pain soaring through my body.
"Frank" I hear someone calling me out, the sound intensifies until I find someone next to me, placing their arms in my shoulder as I try to make out who it is.
"Frank, can you hear me" I recognize Luca's voice, a wave of relief spreading through my spine, "Yea" I manage to say as he pulls me into his arms, "You're ok, you're fine, thank god" He whispers into my shoulders as I take in the warmth of his hug wrapping my own arms around him.
Every inch of my body is in pain, but I couldn't care as long as I have Luca in my arms safe.
"Where are the others?" I ask, finally my vision clearing in front of me so I can view him properly, "They're under that tree, everyone is fine, we were just about to come and search for you" He explained, helping me up.
I notice everyone seated at the foot of the tree, everyone seems to be ok, other than a few scratches here and there, maybe a few sprains or dislocations, which was expected.
Sylvie is lying down on Matteo's lap, not a single movement is seen in her, "What happened to Sylvie?" I ask concerned.
"She hasn't woken up yet, she's breathing, but we need to get help as soon as possible." Those words were enough for me to jog towards her, all the pain in my body numbed out as I proceed check her pulse.
I don't have a torch to check her eyes, so I try to do as much as possible with whatever I have with me right now.
Her pulse is a little slower than expected, and she should've woken up now, unless she had a blunt head trauma, which is highly possible considering the situation.
I check her skull for any further injuries that may have taken place, noticing a tiny piece of wood embedded into her skull, silently cursing myself I pull her upwards giving instructions to the boys on how to keep her head in place and away from danger until we have help.
