Chapter 17: New Beginnings

Mileena was shocked yet glad at the news of hearing that Manak was free from his curse and she could tell her father was extremely glad as it meant he wouldn't be killing the only guy Mileena actually had feelings for if he were to have acquired the taste for human blood in the future.

"Manak, i want to tell you something" said Mileena as she lead Manak into a more private area.

Mileena look down nervously, then she began fiddling with her hands then she took Manak's hand in hers "Manak...i...i love you and....i really want to-" she was stopped by him putting a finger on her lips and leaning down to plant a firm, long kiss on them.

When he pulled back she had a dreamy look on her face." Mileena, i want to marry you" he said looking at her closely to see her reaction. She had a big smile on her face at his words, she had been dreaming of this moment for quite some time now and it had finally come.

"Manak it would bring me great joy to marry you" she said taking his hands in her own until he pulled her into an embrace and buried his face in her hair.

"Good because i spoke to your father earlier and he gave his consent" he said, his voice slightly muffled by her hair.

"He did?" She asked.

"Yes, he did." He confirmed."Now all we have to decide is when we shall be united by marriage."

"How about in a week?" Asked Mileena.

"No, too soon, let's give it two weeks, remember a lot of preparation goes into a wedding we can't get it all done in a week, besides the full moon is next week"

"Yes, your right, come we must tell the others" and with that they both went off to inform their parents.

"So, what do you think, my daughter marries your son? Do you accept this marriage proposal?" Mileena's father asked Manak's father.

They were all gathered in the main tepee: Mileena, Manak, Mileena's parents, the Chemboor chief and Manak's father who was the chief of the Myakas.

"I accept, a marriage bond between my son and your daughter, its perfect, it will signify that both tribes are now at peace with one another." Replied Manak's father." And besides my tribe has managed to almost restore our tribe area much much closer to yours so Mileena can visit whenever she wants. By the way, have you thought of when the wedding is? Hopefully quite soon."

"We were thinking two weeks" replied Manak.

"Ah, two weeks is perfect time for getting everything ready, good choice" commented the Chemboor Chief.

"Let the preparations begin" said Mileena's mother excitedly as she and the chief walked out to inform both the tribes of the happy occasion.

Mileena's father walked over to were the young, happy couple was standing and said" i am really proud of you Mileena you have grown into a beautiful woman and you Manak welcome to the family from now on you are my son, make me proud and don't ever break my daughter's love for you or else" he laughed.

Manak also laughed" don't worry father, i will love and protect her no matter what."

"Good, well i have some pack related things to tend to so i'll leave you now" he said and walked out.

"Who would have thought that a week after the vampire battle i would be engaged." Said Manak amazed at how far away the battle seemed.

"And who would have thought that our tribes would be friends" said Mileena as Manak took her hand and led her outside.

"Amazing, just amazing"
