*one week later*Preparations were in full swing for the upcoming wedding, Mileena had decided that she would wear her mother's wedding dress for the event.
Everybody was busy either with the food or with other things such as hunting for the feast or making the Chemboor area a suitable occasion for the wedding.
It was traditional for the wedding to be held in the bride's tribe's living area as it is seen as the last time she would be in her home before being wed and made to live with her husband's tribe.
Everybody who saw Mileena could see a happy glow around her and were shocked as they couldn't believe that this girl who used to be alone and so quiet had changed within the coarse of a few months and even the women of her tribe respected her now after the battle.
The spot for the wedding had already been chosen, in front of the great fire, and would be blessed for seven consecutive days till the wedding itself. You could smell the excitement in the air...
-------------THE WEDDING--------------
Mileena felt a fluttering in her stomach as two girls of her tribe set her hair in the traditional wedding style, a plait with three eagle feathers sprouting from the middle. She already had the traditional wedding paint on her face, two red strips on her chin symbolising the affection of which she would speak to her beloved and three blue stripes on either cheek to represent her loyalty and love towards her husband.
She was already adorned in her dress, her mother's wedding dress, which was as yellow as the sun, a perfect fit on on her slender body and on her ears hung the yellow feathers that accompanied her dress...she looked absolutely beautiful, today was her day and nothing would ruin it.
When she was ready, the girls left to call her mother and her elder cousin Suka to accompany her to the great fire and towards her love.
Mileena placed her hand in the crook of Suka's hand while her mother stood behind her and together they all walked to the Great Fire.
While Mileena was being led to her side of the fire Manak was being led to his accompanied by an aunt in place of his mother. Both the chiefs proceeded to bless the couple and those participating in the wedding as well as all the guests. Two blue blankets were placed on the shoulders of the couple as the priest now moved forward to bless them and Suka came foward to fill the roll of brother for Mileena and he made a vow to teach her children the ways of the tribe among other things.
As the priest made to remove the two blue blankets and replace it with a white one to symbolise husband and wife and to end the ceremony, an angry howl from the far end of the village echoed through the trees and tepees screaming "MUST. SEEK REVENGE" and the priest dropped to his knees as an arrow protruded from his chest.
