A Hunter's Curse

Chapter 19: Another enemy

The wedding party immediately broke up as men and women alike ran around in a panic, looking for weapons and other objects to protect themselves.

Mileena instantly shifted into her wolf form, shredding her mother's wedding dress in the process, shock ran through the party at the sight of Mileena but their attention quickly shifted to the group of women who had arrived at the edge of the village, snarling.

More and more wolves shifted and joined Mileena's side forming a protective circle around the two tribes. As the women approached one stepped away from the group, holding her chin out in confidence and anger.

"So these are the people that think they can kill my husband, the great Dracula, and the husbands of my friends and, get away with it? WELL YOUR'RE WRONG! I, Serena, will not let you people get away with this not for as long as i live and now you shall feel what its like to lose the ones you love" and she pounced forward knocking one of the wolves out the way and grabbed Manak by the neck and tossed him up in the air where a giant eagle caught him and flew away.

Mileena was enraged and she sought out a fight with Serena. The fight between wolf and vampire was bloody as young, innocent children were slain and with each available moment a widowed vampire would come forward and snatch a young man from the crowd and toss him up to the waiting eagles above, it seemed they only targeted the young men but for what purpose nobody knew.

No matter how hard the wolves fought they were helpless to stop the young men from being taken, they could try but the vampire women would attack them and divert their attention before any rescue could be made possible.

Satisfied, the women stopped and retreated as fast as they could and again Dracula's wife addressed them with a smirk on her face and said "Never interfere with the women of the vampire clan for we are not as easily destroyed by the sun as our male counterparts are, we shall meet again" and she gave a shrill laugh as she turned and joined her companions.

As soon as they left Mileena shifted back and fell to the floor naked and she cried her heart out, not caring that she was lying on the ground with nothing on, surrounded by people, not that they noticed cos they were also shattered by what had just happened.

Mileena refused to budge when her mother placed a blanket on her and tried to move her a couple of minutes later repeating "he's gone, he's gone" with tears and a crazed look in her eyes, as she tried to keep it together until she noticed her mother for the first time and declared "Whatever happens now, i WILL get my love back and nobody shall stop me, all who try must die!" She said with raw hatred in her voice and she got up and went to her tepee in silence where she broke down completely not trying in the least to hold it back until she cried herself to sleep.
