They sit us down in the station as we wait. They took our bags. I want my bag back. I want to get out of here. I glare at any cop that walks by. Caspian looks scared. I wish I could give him one of my dolls right now. That always calms him down.

"What's your name?" An officer walks up to us with a paper and a pen in hand.

My nose wrinkled with anger as I told him my name.

"You two have..." He scratched the back of his head as he read something on another paper. I'm guessing all our crimes.

I look around and try to find the nearest escape. The station isn't full of people. There at least five cops I've seen so far.

"Caspian, come with me." The officer turns around and heads down a hallway. Caspian looks at me and hesitantly follows. I watch them both disappear behind a wall.

I notice our bags on a desk not far from where I'm seated. I look around to make sure nobody's watching. There's somebody at the front desk but their head is resting in their hands, they haven't moved in a while, I'm assuming they're asleep.

I creep towards the desk and go to grab my bag, right as I was about to grab it something pulls my wrists together.

I roll my eyes, curse these handcuffs.

I turn around and turn my head as far as it could to look over my shoulder. I couldn't see really anything. My neck was starting to cramp up and my eyes were hurting due to my them being strained to look behind me as I searched through my bag. My hands search for something like a pin that I can use to get out of these handcuffs.

I find something close to a pin and creep back to my chair incase anybody walked in on me trying to escape. I don't know how long the cop is going to be so I try to unlock it fast. Right before it unlocks I hear a click from the hallway where Caspian and the cop were. I clench my hands around the pin and straighten my back.

Caspian rushes over to me. "Zara, he said I'm going to an orphanage. I'm scared, I don't want to leave you."

My eyes widen. I opened my mouth to speak but I couldn't get anything out before the cop cut me off. "Don't worry, he'll be going to one that care about the kids there, he'll be able to visit you once you're in jail."

How long will I be in jail?

He motions for me to follow him and I do. I debate giving Caspian my pin. He'll be going somewhere where he won't have to steal and he'll get a real family, as much as I want to give it to him and tell him to run it'll be better for him to be with people that will take care of him.

I follow behind the cop into a room with chairs on either side of a table, I sit down in the chair closest to the door.

He sits down in the other chair and pulls out a sheet of paper. "You've stolen 140 fruits from multiple shops, specifically from Mrs. Duddletren, I don't blame you for that, she is quite a headache." He flips the page. "5 necklaces worth $5,000 each, fabrics, gems, and a good amount of seashells."

I've always had a fascination with seashells, well, ever since I lost my memory, just anything related to the ocean fascinates me.

"Then the theft stopped for a month, why is that?" He looks up at me.

"Miss. Ray had taken us in."

He seems more interested once I had mentioned Miss. Ray. He clears his throat "Does- uhm, is she married?"

I raise a brow. "No," I think for a second. "Y'know once she gets back and she's better I can introduce you to her."

"Really?"

"Yes, but it won't happen if I'm in jail."

He sighs. "As tempting as that is I can't let you go, you'll be in jail for 6 months." He stands up.

I look down, defeated, and follow him out the room back to the lobby where Caspian is. Before he separates us again he takes our hand cuffs off and lets us say our goodbyes.

I hug Caspian, before I break the hug he whispers in my ear. "If you walk past our old hut and through the jungle you should find a village. It's smaller and has half as many cops as here. Be careful though, there are pirates."

I nod and leg go, when the cop isn't looking I sneak a doll into Caspian's bag and my pin in my hair.

"Are you kids done?"

"Yes." Caspian says.

He puts our handcuffs back on, grabs my bag, and leads me further down the hallway.

Once at the end of the hallway he opens a door that leads to a room full of cells. There are people in a couple. He walks me into one and closes the door behind me. I watch him as he puts my bag on a hook next to the door.

"Until we transfer you to a proper prison, you'll be staying here." He says as he walks out the door.

I walk around the cell to try and figure if there are any easier ways out. Nope, none. I'll have to use the pin. I decide to wait till night when everyone's asleep to I can quietly unlock the lock, I can't risk anybody snitching on me.

It's dark out, I've been watching the sky from the cell window all day, every so often a water droplet hits the window. Everyone else is asleep. At least I think they are. I take the pin out of my hair and start working at the lock. My arms are bending at weird and uncomfortable angles as I move the pin around, my eyes focused as the lock rattles.

My body relaxes and I let out a sigh of relief. I slowly push the door open, cringing at every squeak it makes. I tip toe towards the door and grab my bag, as I'm putting it on I hear shuffling and I freeze.

"Honey, be a dear and let me out, I can give you as much money and jewelry as you want." A woman in one of the cells offers.

I shake my head. "Sorry, ma'am." I walk out the door.
