The day couldn't have possibly gotten weirder, but it had. The sun had just fallen beneath the horizon and currently, she was at the dinner table with her family, Chase, Geto and Gojo?

Never in a million years would I have expected this. She thought as she squeezed her fork a little too hard. Gojo sat beside her noticed and gently rubbed her thigh. She glanced at him with a soft smile. Even in the odd environment, the two felt very comfortable with each other.

Mari who sat across the table rolled her eyes. "Are you kidding me? Is this even appropriate?!"

"Mari, relax. These are Kanae's friends. You will be respectful to them." Her mother attempted to calm her. She glanced at the two again sighing. "But you two, behave."

"We didn't even do anything!" Kanae hadn't remembered her aunt being so...difficult. Maybe it was because her and Mari had gotten along in the past, but now that they hadn't, her aunt was harsh on her.

"You guys are making the boys at the table uncomfortable. You need to all calm down." Kanae's grandmother fanned her hand at the two.

Chase, Geto and Gojo each glanced at each other before taking a bite of the dinner in unison. No one really planned this dinner. Her grandmother insisted on the boys joining them. 'The more the merrier' she said. 'It would be a fun night to remember' she said. A night to remember for sure, but fun? Kanae couldn't see how it could get enjoyable.

"Gosh you all are so tense! The good part of the dinner hasn't even started! We do have one more guest, but they'll be late. It's a surprise." The grandmother winked at Kanae who tilted her head in confusion.

"I don't think this table can handle another person." Kanae commented twirling her fork in her hand.

"Well, we will make it work." Her grandmother assured her before turning her attention to Geto and Gojo. "I know about Chase, but I want to hear about you two! A friend of Kanae's and a lover. My, my, my, you both are quite dashing. No wonder Kanae got close to you two."

Kanae shook her head with a blush. "Please grams, don't make it awkward than it already is. Plus, we didn't even really get along when we first met."

If the events at the Halloween party hadn't transpired, Kanae is sure her life would've remained unchanged. Maybe her father and her would have fought still but that's normal.

"Really? Well then, I see that things have worked in your favour." As Kanae was on one side of her grandmother, Geto was on the other. Her grandmother turned to face him smirking. "You must be Gojo. The handsome yet bratty boyfriend that Mari was telling us about."

Kanae and the real Gojo glanced at each other surprised. Geto couldn't understand much of the language but could decipher he had been mistaken for Gojo.

Mari began to clear her voice. "I-I didn't say that, plus—"

"Anyways, you know you look exactly like my husband. Very handsome and stoic when we were young." They all watched as she went on a tangent about her husband. Geto sat there unsure of what to do blinking at Kanae profusely signalling for help. Gojo on the other hand, was enjoying it.

"What happened to your husband if you mind me asking?" Gojo spoke up as Kanae silently shook her head at him. "What? I'm curious!"

"No worries! It's not difficult to say anymore..." Her grandmother continued. "He was actually killed by his best friend. The drama is much deeper for it to had gotten to that point, but—"

"Mom, is this necessary?" Kanae's aunt interrupted her rambling. "We shouldn't be speaking of him in such a way."

"Oh alright! Anyways, moral of the story is, Kanae you have good taste. Mari, why can't you find handsome guys to be around like Kanae?"
