"I can't believe them!" I raged, cleaning the Dungbombs out of my hair.

"Not only did they splatter us with Dungbombs and- are those frog brains?" Ella said, also cleaning out her hair.

"They have a record to keep," Ember finished.

"You know, Ella-" Ella- wait, Ember?

"We need a way to tell you apart," I interrupted.

"We could wear sweaters with our initials," one of the two suggested.

"You're both EE," Anna pointed out.

"Ah, yes. Have I not mentioned that my real name is Alla?" the one I assumed to be Ella said.

"Really?"

"No."

"We'll figure it out later," the other, whom we'll call Ember until further notice, said. "Right now-"

"We plan- Peeves!" Ella exclaimed as the poltergeist attempted to drop a vase on her, a plan that failed miserably as Ella waved it away contemptuously. Peeves said nothing, merely poking his tounge out at us before zooming away.

"We plan Peeves?" Ember teased.

"We plan revenge," Ella corrected.

"Yes, that sounds like a much better idea."

"Revenge?" I was skeptical about that.

"You know- payback, retaliation, retrubution," Ella explained.

"I know what revenge is! I'm just unsure of what you have in mind." In the past two days, I'd seen enough to never want to get on their bad side. The twins were devilishly tricky, clever, and accomplished pranksters- with and without magic. "Could we stick to 'an eye for an eye?'"

"What's the fun in that?"

"James won't try to one-up you."

"Again, where's the fun?"

"Now what we'll need-"

"Cabinets-"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, it'll work."

"If you say so. We'll also need paint-"

"Dimorphodons-"

"Dimorphodons! Where the heck are we going to get dimorphodons?"

"Just joking."

"Ahem," I cut in. "We'd like an explination."

Ella had the grace to look chastened, though Ember was as haughty and firey as ever.

"Oh, right. We were thinking-"

"If we lure them to the Vanishing Cabinet-"

"They'd end up at the other end of the school-"

"Where we'll have buckets of paint-"

"In green and silver, obviously-"

"And we'll be waiting for them in leopard form-"

"To scare the wits out of them!"

The two looked positively radiant- and a little mad- at the idea.

I contemplated it. Yes, they had humiliated us, and not retaliating was a sign of weakness.

James is so going to get me for this. "Let's do it."

Three days later, we had everything planned out. It turned out, Anna had this amazing ability to transform her voice, so she'd lure them to the Cabinet. I'd be on the other side to release the paint on them. Ember and Ella would come out of the shadows to (hopefully) scare the wits out of them.

Time to put our plan into action.

James

Ten minutes to midnight. The gang and I were hurrying back to the common room, trying to avoid detection, which would lead to detention.

That's when I heard the voice.

Come. Follow.

A voice, a whisper in the wind, calling to us.

I froze. "Did you hear that?" I asked in a whisper.

"Yes," Chelsea replied, also in a whisper.

Come, the voice repeated, more insistent this time.

"We should follow it," Skipper said, not bothering to keep her voice down.

I don't know why, but I agreed. "Let's go."

Probably not the best idea in the world.

The voice led us down hallways, urging us forward.

In here, it whispered as we reach the Vanishing Cabinet.

"Are you sure?" Damen asked. "It could be dangerous."

"What's the worst that could happen?" I replied before stepping in, the others following suit.

"Relashio!" I heard a voice shout as we stepped through. A second later, we were doused in paint- green and silver, and glowing, natrually.

As I cleared the paint from my eyes, I noticed two shapes in the darkness. Leopards- one African, one white- were approaching us, tensed and ready to pounce.

Chelsea screamed.

"Shh," Skipper said. "If we don't show aggression, they won't attack."

For five whole minutes, we stood there, unmoving, in silence, while the leopards circled us. I was tense, ready to leap to the side if one of them pounced.

Laughter. Lily's laughter filled the air, followed by another voice, which I assumed belonged tp one of her friends. Even the leopards looked like they were laughing.

"Lily," I asked. "What's going on?"

"Revenge," she replied once she got her laughter under control.

"You should have seen your faces!" her friend- Anna, I think- choked out.

"I'm so getting you back," I said before stepping back into the Cabinet.

Yo what's up peeps? Hope you enjoyed. I personally enjoyed writing this chapter.
You may or may not have been wondering how the dimorphodons came up. I was listening to the Jurassic Park theme song when I wrote that part, if that explains anything.
Lots of love,
Gaby
