Aiah's Pov
"Why would I leave her to someone who just tried to hurt her? She deserves someone better," Mikha said.
"I'm her boyfriend, so stay out of our business, Mikha," Gelo snapped.
"Ex-boyfriend is the right word, Gelo," Mikha shot back.
I could see the anger rising in Gelo's eyes—he was about to lose it.
"Mikha’s right. Break na tayo, and I do deserve someone better," I said firmly.
Hinawakan ko kamay ni Mikha at iniwan namin si Gelo. We didn’t stop walking until we reached the parking lot. Sa ilalim ng ilaw ng streetlight, kita ko na medyo namamaga ang pisngi ni Mikha.
"Mikha, your cheek..." I said with concern.
"Namaga? Looks like he slapped harder than I thought," Mikha replied, touching her cheek, making me laugh a little.
"Is something funny?" Mikha asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Kanina you were this brave, badass Mikha... now you're back to the regular Mikha," I said, smiling.
"Well, he was about to hurt you. My body just... reacted," Mikha said shyly.
"Let’s go back to the gym. I’ll get an ice pack for your cheek," I said.
"Maloi might see this. She might punch Gelo," Mikha said.
"Maloi? One of my best friends?" I asked, a little surprised.
"She’s my stepsister. Baka nasa gym na siya," Mikha explained.
"Then let’s not go back yet. Let’s go to my house," I said.
"Huh?" Mikha blinked.
"Where’s your car?" I asked.
"The red Porsche," Mikha replied.
"Keys," I said, holding out my hand.
"I’ll drive," Mikha said confidently.
"You don’t know where I live," I said.
"I’ve been there before," Mikha said casually.
"Huh?" I echoed, surprised.
Mikha opened the passenger door for me, then went around to the driver’s seat. A few minutes later, we arrived at my house.
"Mikha, how do you know where I live?" I asked.
She was about to answer when Tita Cathy opened the door.
"Aiah, you didn’t call to say Mikha was coming with you," Tita Cathy said.
"Tita, you know Mikha?" I asked, surprised.
"Of course. Wait—what happened to Mikha’s cheek? Pasok kayo," Tita Cathy said.
We both stepped inside.
Hi, I’m Maraiah Queen Arceta—Aiah for short. I’m one of the most well-known attorneys in the country. I live here with my older brother, aunt, and cousin. My parents are in Canada, but they visit from time to time, mostly to check on our other businesses like hotels and restaurants. While they’re away, my brother and I manage the law firm and the rest of our local businesses.
"Aiah, get an ice bag for Mikha," Tita Cathy said.
"Opo, Tita," I said.
I quickly grabbed a small bag from my room then, filled it with ice and water from the kitchen. I brought it back.
"Here, Mikha," I said.
"Thanks, Aiah," Mikha said, holding the ice pack to her cheek.
"Tita, how do you know Mikha?" I asked, still curious.
