Mikha's Pov
It’s been three days since we arrived in Baguio. We’re finally back at the house, fresh from a group jog—all eight of us.
“I wanna go hiking,” Aiah said.
“You still have energy?” I asked.
“Syempre,” Aiah replied, smiling.
“I’ll make coffee. You can rest with the others,” I said.
I headed to the kitchen to start making coffee.
“So this is how Mikhaela Lim acts when she’s a suitor,” Sheena said.
It was Sheena and Gwen.
“What are you two doing here?” I asked.
“Magkakape,” Gwen answered.
“I’ll make some for you, too,” I said.
They watched me prepare the coffee. I even made some coffee art for them.
“Mikhs, do you remember those unexpected moments with Aiah back in high school?” Gwen asked.
“Huh? Were there any?” I said.
“You really do forget sometimes. Like that time you were hanging out at my house, then Sheena and Aiah passed by so I invited them in,” Gwen said.
“Oh, that time. That wasn’t unexpected—you and Sheena planned it,” I replied.
“Well, there was one unexpected moment,” Gwen said.
She and Sheena glanced at each other before looking back at me.
“The checking of exam papers,” they said in unison.
“Checking?” I echoed.
I tried to remember what they were talking about. Oh—that time. We were the ones assigned to check the exam papers of another section.
FLASHBACK
“Mikhs, we need to check these exam papers,” Colet said.
“Bakit ako pa lang nandito? Where’s Jho and Gwen?” I asked.
I was at Colet’s house, thinking we’d just hang out since exams just ended, but I got tricked into checking papers instead.
“I already gave them papers to bring here since I couldn’t bring everything home yesterday,” Colet explained.
“Colet, snacks,” I said.
“I told them to buy food. Start checking the papers, Mikhs,” Colet said.
I began checking the papers. After about thirty minutes, I heard the gate open. It must be Jho and Gwen.
“Gwen, Jho, tagal niyo. Please tell me you brought snacks,” I called out.
“We did,” Gwen said.
“I’ve been checking papers since earlier,” I replied.
I turned around and saw Gwen... but instead of Jho, it was Sheena and Aiah.
“Hi, Mikha, we brought snacks,” Aiah said.
“H-H-hi, Aiah,” I stammered.
She placed the snacks on the other table. There were two tables—one for the snacks, the other for the exam papers. Aiah sat across from me, meaning we were face-to-face.
“Hi, Aiah, Sheena,” Colet greeted.
“We saw Gwen at the convenience store, and Jho asked us to bring the papers. So Sheena and I decided to come here and help,” Aiah explained.
