Gelo's Pov
"Mom, try to request another trial for me," I said.
"I was about to do that, son, but your dad doesn't want to," Mom replied.
"Then do it without telling him," I insisted.
"You know I can't do that," Mom said softly.
Kakatapos lang ng trial ko kahapon. I was sentenced to a few years in prison. Mom is the only one who visits me. She said Dad doesn’t even want to come. But what makes me angrier is that Bryan Arceta is the attorney of Mikha Lim.
"I wanna get out of here, Mom," I said, frustrated.
"Son, just stay here and be good so we can try to lessen your sentence," Mom pleaded.
"It's her fault, Mom—Mikha Lim. Even my career is ruined because of her," I spat.
"Please, calm down, son," Mom said, then turned and left.
I went back to my cell, mind racing. I needed a way to get out of here.
"Maraiah Queen Arceta," I muttered under my breath.
"I know that name," said Damien.
Damien Lee—the drug lord. My cellmate. He's serving a life sentence.
"She's my ex-girlfriend," I said.
"What a coincidence. She's the reason I'm here," Damien smirked.
And just like that, an idea sparked in my mind. Maybe I could use him... to get out of here.
Aiah's Pov
"Wake up, babi," Mikha said, gently nudging me.
"I'm still sleepy," I mumbled, burying my face in the pillow.
Currently, I’m at Mikha’s house. Last night, we had dinner here to celebrate Maloi’s birthday. It's been a month since my parents' party.
"You have to go to work today," Mikha reminded me.
"Do I have to?" I groaned.
"Yes po. Kuya Bryan told me you have a few minor cases on your desk," Mikha said.
"Why would my Kuya tell you that?" I asked, pouting.
"I asked him if you had a lot of cases this week because... I want to take you on a date after you finish all of them," Mikha said, a bit shyly.
"So my girlfriend wants to take me on a date after I finish my work this week?" I teased.
She nodded, looking adorable even this early in the morning. She’s really asking me out while I’m still half-asleep.
"Okay po, babi," I said with a smile.
Nag-stretch muna ako, then niyakap si Mikha. Biglang tumunog yung tiyan ko.
"And now you're hungry, babi. Let’s eat breakfast po," Mikha giggled.
"I'm gonna eat a lot—lalo na't alam kong si Tita ang nagluto," I said.
"Is Mom’s cooking better than mine?" Mikha asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I’ll just take a bath, babi," I replied quickly.
I gave her a quick kiss on the lips and stood up to go to the bathroom. That’s my way of teasing her. I’m sure she’ll be sulking in a minute.
After taking a bath, I saw her standing by the wardrobe. When she turned around, I pulled her into a hug.
"Your cooking will always be the best for me, babi," I said, smiling.
"Nang-aasar ka lang," Mikha replied, pouting.
