CHAPTER 13

Aiah's Pov

"Aiah," Stacey said.

"What?" I asked.

"What do you feel towards Mikhs?" Stacey asked.

I looked at the door.

"Don't worry, sinara ko," Stacey said.

"She's special to me. I don't want her to disappear from my life," I said.

"You fell harder for her," Stacey said.

"It's the first time I felt this way. I didn’t feel this when I was with Jeremy or Gelo," I said.

Stacey touched my forehead with the back of her hand.

"It's confirmed," she said.

"Huh?" I asked.

"You are really in love, Maraiah Queen Arceta," Stacey said.

"Stacey, what if I had noticed Mikha’s crush on me before?" I asked.

"Aiah, we don’t know what would’ve happened. But what’s important now is the present. It's kinda cute seeing the two of you in the dating stage," Stacey said.

"It’s like we’re teenagers, but we’re young adults now. Speaking of adults, hindi ko pa nasasabi kila Mom na I have a girl suitor," I said.

"Then tawagan mo na sila ngayon," Stacey said.

I opened my phone and called Dad.

Video Call Conversation:
Me: Hi, Dad.
Dad: Hello, dear. Bryan said you're in Baguio.
Me: Yes, Dad. Kamusta kayo ni Mom?
Dad: We're doing fine here. Uuwi kami this month for our wedding anniversary.
Me: Really? I can’t wait to see you both.
Dad: By the way, say hi to your girl suitor for us.
Me: Girl suitor? Dad, you know Mikha is courting me?
Dad: Of course. She personally went here—oops, I shouldn’t have said that. Bye, dear!

Dad ended the call. I’m confused by what he just said.

"Did your dad just say that Mikha personally went there? In Canada?" Stacey asked.

"Yeah, Dad just said it... but Mikha was here in Baguio last week," I said.

"Hmm. Weird," Stacey said.

"Kausapin ko si Mikha later," I said.

"Okay, tara na sa baba. Naaamoy ko na may nagluluto sa grill," Stacey said.

"Minsan, same kayo ni Shee ng ilong pagdating sa pagkain," I said.

We went downstairs. Sheena was in the living area watching TV, Maloi was in the kitchen, and Colet was on the deck grilling the meats.

"Saan si Mikha?" I asked.

"Kasama niya si Jho at Gwen sa backyard," Maloi said.

"Thanks, Maloi," I said.

I went to the backyard and saw the three of them. Naglakad ako palapit sa kanila.

"Hi guys, mind if I take my suitor?" I asked.

"Of course, Aiah," Gwen said.

"She's all yours," Jho added.

Gwen and Jho left. Mikha and I stood in silence, looking at the night sky. The moon was a bit bright tonight. Nakikita ko ang mukha ni Mikha.

"Tapos ka na ba mag-unpack? I can make matcha latte for you," Mikha said.

"Maybe later. Right now, I just want to look at the moon," I replied.

"Are you sure?" Mikha asked.

"Well, I wanna make sure about something I heard earlier," I said.

"Heard?" Mikha asked again.
