Chapter 3: Mother and Daughter

Friedrich's Room, Iron Blood Dorm

Friedrich took Hunley from Isaac's Lab and decide to adopt her as her own child since Hunley didn't have any experience with family and she is still has the mindset of an child; Friedrich decide to hide her from the other factions because what Isaac inform her that there are kansens that will want to examine and tear her apart to learn her contraption so Friedrich decide to hide Hunley until she have a talk with Bismarck and Isaac is hiding the small submarine in his shop which he will continue studying it and see if he can give Hunley a Iron Blood submarine, but order Friedrich that Hunley need to develop human emotions and personality before he can give Hunley a new submarine rigging. Hunley stare around the room while Friedrich is making something for Hunley to eat since Hunley's stomach was growling all the sudden before coming to the dorm.

Friedrich: "Here you go my child. Hope it's too your liking."

Hunley is confuse of what it is, but it's a Brezel which Friedrich decide to feed Hunley herself since she don't know how to.

Friedrich: "Looks like we need to work more than I thought. You're really are a child."

This makes Friedrich very happy that she got herself a child that she can take care of which makes her life very happy, but of course she loves all Iron Blood kansens as her own child; however a child that lives with her would be lovely. Friedrich continue to take care of Hunley like helping her read, learning the life of an kansen, and of course bathing which they take a bath together since Hunley is still figure things out; however there is one problem which is a certain kansen who like to be treat like a child which is KMS Roon. Friedrich can sense something behind her door which she knows who is coming in which is Roon who knock on the door.

Roon: "It's me Mother."

Friedrich: "Come in Roon."

Roon enter the room and notice Friedrich holding onto Hunly on her lap which she was shock that someone is treating like a child and not her.

Roon(shock): "Who's that Mother?"

Friedrich: "This is my new child Roon. Her name is Hunley. I found her when I was returning from my trip."

Roon continue to glare at Hunley who is staring at her with a confuse look on her face while eating some celery which is in her mouth. Roon continue to glare at Hunley while Friedrich pat Roon's head which Hunley notice it and want a headpat.

Friedrich: "You want a headpat too Hunley? Okay than."

Friedrich pat both Roon and Hunley's head while the two glare at each other which we can see lightning coming out of their eyes before they clash into each other. Friedrich look at the clock and realize that she needs to have some beer with Zeppelin at the bar.

Friedrich: "Time for me to head out. You two better behave yourself while I'm gone."

Friedrich head out while Roon and Hunley stare at each other which Roon is going to berserk mode and threaten Hunley.

Roon(threaten): "You listen here bitch. I'm the favorite for Mother and if you try to get in my way than I make sure that you disappear for good. Got that."

Hunley stare at Roon, but wasn't bother by her threat and start to look at the book which she try to speak; however she can't get the words out which Roon mock Hunley.

Roon(mock): "You must be weak if you can't get a word out. I better head out so I don't get infect with mindless sickness from you."

Roon was about to head out when she got hit in the head by an iron pipe which angers her and have her bloodshot eyes staring at Hunley who just standing there reading the book which Roon decide that she is not taking this lightly. She was about murder Hunley until a door was knocking to reveal Nijmegen.

Nijmegen: "Sorry to disturb you Mother, but you request.... Oh.. Roon. What are you doing in here?"

Roon(happy): "Nothing; if you're looking for Mother than she is having a drink with Zeppelin. I'm going now."

Roon head out while glaring at Hunley who is staring at her.

Roon(angry): "You win this round."

Roon left the room while Nijmegen stare at Hunley who is confuse.

Nijmegen(confuse): "Who are you?" 

Hunley stare at Nijmegen and point her finger at the book before returning to the book. Nijmegen is confuse about the kansen, but decide to head out to find Friedrich at the bar.

Meanwhile
Bar, Iron Blood Base

Friedrich is drinking beer with Zeppelin who question her of that kansen that she saw after Friedrich left Isaac's Lab and heading to the dorm.

Zeppelin: "So who's that girl you were carrying to your dorm?"

Friedrich: "Another child that was lost at sea. I have Isaac to examine her and she will be living with me for now. I need to help to educate the child since she doesn't talk and acts like a child."

Zeppelin: "How about hire Z23? I learn that she is teaching Iron Blood kansens at the training facility which everyone talks about how great Z23 is as a teacher."

Friedrich: "I think that's a good idea. Z23 is always a good teacher."

They continue to drink until a door open to reveal Nijmegen.

Nijmegen: "There you are Friedrich; Lady Bismarck wants to talk to you about that kansen that's in your room."

Friedrich: "Looks like it's time face the music now, but I believe that child will have a bright future ahead of her."

Friedrich head out while Zeppelin stare at Nijmegen.

Nijmegen: "What?"

Zeppelin: "Care for a drink?"

Nijmegen accept the invitation and both of them are starting to drink.
