Izuku and Katsuki's last meeting was a bittersweet affair, filled with hugs, tears, and promises to keep in touch. However, as the days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months, they found it more challenging to keep their promise. It's been months since their last kiss, last touch, last embrace, and last conversation, and the distance between them has grown wider. The longing for each other's company has been particularly hard on them, and the emotional strain has been palpable. Every time they think of each other, their hearts ache, knowing they might never be together again.
Katsuki recently graduated from college with honors. His friends decided to throw a celebratory party for him at the Frat House on campus, which Ochaco was planning. Overwhelmed with pride, Katsuki felt like running to Izuku, giving him a tight hug and expressing to him his happiness. However, the painful memory suddenly came to his mind, making him decide not to call or text the news. He chose not to tell the person he loved about his achievement.
Meanwhile, as Izuku's final year at college approached, he was determined to work harder and keep his focus intact. He diligently juggled his job and studies, leaving him no time to socialize or hang out with his best friends, Iida and Todoroki. Even when he started dating Katsuki, he was too busy to spend time with his friends.
As a result, Izuku's friends were worried about him since they hadn't heard from him in a long time. They were unsure if he was alive or had met with an accident or something worse. They missed their friend and were concerned about his well-being. They wished he could take a break from his busy schedule and spend quality time with them.
Despite being busy with work and studies, Izuku also knew he missed his friends. He hoped to make it up to them once he graduated and had more free time.
"Hey man, where have you been? It's like you disappeared," Iida texted. "All I want to know is if you're alright. I haven't seen you in the halls lately. Are you skipping school?"
"Zuku, I'm worried about you. Please call me," Todoroki texted. "Iida is driving me nuts with all his text messages asking if I have reached you. For our sake, please just let us know if you're okay."
Despite receiving multiple text messages from Iida and Todorki, Izuku ignored them. He had been trying to cope with the aftermath of his breakup with Katsuki and was struggling to balance his personal life and studies. He had meant to talk to his friends about these issues, but his mother refused to let him do so.
Whenever Izuku's phone beeped with a message notification, his mother would barge into his room, snatching his phone from his hands or desk and grounding it for a week. Her overbearing nature made it impossible for Izuku to communicate with his friends, and he felt trapped and alone.
Despite the constant interruptions, Izuku was determined to find a way to speak to his friends. He knew he needed their support to get through this challenging time and was willing to do whatever it took to make it happen. So, one night, he left his apartment when he heard his mom sound asleep and rushed to Iida's place. He knocked on the door frantically, looking over his shoulder every so often, fearing that Inko had traced his steps and was about to give him the beating of his life. Fortunately, Iida opened the door just in time.
"Midoriya! Thank God you're alright," Iida exclaimed as he launched at his best friend and hugged him tightly. He then carried him into his apartment and closed the door. After letting him go, he punched his arm in anger. "What the hell, man! Why haven't you returned any of my texts or calls? Why were you MIA?"
Izuku picked up his basketball bag from the middle school and turned towards Iida, his friend. "Heh, about that," he said, indicating his bag, "I was thinking of staying over tonight." Iida sighed before nodding, approving for Izuku to spend the night.
