It had been a while since you'd received a single text from Ayato or even seen his face while working at the market. It was nice, you finally felt like you had some breathing room, well, aside from trying to take care of the Fatui Mart work staff when they fought. Even with Childe on the job, he was always just as busy as you were. He was assistant manager after all.
Currently, you're helping Scara, a half-cat, stalk the shelves with product supplies in the back. Scara was smaller than most, being the runt of a litter which he can't even remember, so he asked you for help with certain tasks that required more lifting.

"Well, he may be dumb but he's got the muscles when it comes to the heavy lifting." Placing the boxes down you wipe your forehead. "That should be that last of 'em."
"Mmm, thanks," Scara mumbled, opening the first box and getting to work. You helped with organizing the back for a while. It was better than working out in the main part of the store.
"Working hard I see." A cheery voice cut into the silence of the storage room. It was Childe making his daily run to see what supplies might need ordered restocking.
"Yep, should be the last of the boxes for this month. " You sigh.
"Good, I knew I could count on you!" Smiling at his words you huffed, but that was before you heard a hiss.
"I'm here to y'know! Stupid sly fox." Scara mumbled the last bit as he stormed his way out of the back room.
"Don't mind catty boy, he probably wants to be praised too." Childe chuckled, placing a hand on your head. "Such a good boy (Y/N)."
"Huh?!" His words made you choke on your spit, not expecting something so bold out of the blue. "Who you calling good boy?! I told you I don't like being treated like a dog."
