Not only had you been a complete brat for the whole week, but now it was even impacting his work. Pantalone, a man who had no time for relationships, yet was still greedy for the touch of another was the harbinger that funded you.
There was no connection between you two. It was all in great fun. He pays you to stick around. Always flashing his pouch of shiny Mora in front of your eyes, which always seems to catch at anything expensive or shiny. And in turn for his money, you provided him with anything he requested. An extra hand, a night out, a meal or drink to be brought to him, someone for company, or just a pretty thing on his arm to walk around with.
You'd be lying if you said he didn't have the looks to pull anyone. Sometimes you wondered if there were ever a day he'd stopped flashing his Mora to you if you'd still stick around or leave to find another man or women to collect coin from. For a while, this idea had plegged your mind. It didn't take a big toll but it was definitely there. Like an annoying song at the back of your head.
As such, even without his demand for it, you'd stay clung to his side. He was a busy man and never took the time to notice your behavioral differences. After all, he assumed it was all the same when the shiny light of a coin caught your eye. Like an adventurer, you'd sweep the greedy dragon's treasure away at any chance you got. So imagine his surprise when you push away his Mora for the first time, opting to get to bring him a meal while he worked without any need for a high-priced bribe.
Still, mind ever clouded by work he didn't seem to notice your advances. Eventually, that annoying little tune in the back of your mind grew to the size of a large symphony in an empty room, reverberating in your head. You just wished he'd notice already. That's when it started, your bratty behavior. Completely ignoring him even when he called for you, he thought it was just a short-lived change as he flashed his money only to find you glaring at him before turning away.
What annoyed him even more was the fact that he would catch you distracting the other workers at the bank. Long chats that caught their attention, so much so they failed to notice whenever he walked up. Or worse yet, how you'd get just a little too touchy with some of the male workers, watching as they stuttered how they had work to do only for you to sweetly coo about how you'd like company.
He's had about enough. Giving him attitude, distracting his workers to the point their eyes draw to you when passing by, taking away his respect, and sharing yourself with people other than him. He was gonna do something to fix it once and for all. He was done trying to convince himself there was nothing involved between you and him because if he never truly cared he would have never batted an eye to jealousy.
