Chapter Nine

Luna (Moonstar)'s POV

In Luna's mindscape.....

I kept walking into the blackness of my mind. The nightmare of my altered self already almost completely took over. I have to stop this, I thought.

I kept walking until I saw a black form in the distance. Unsheathing my claws, I padded forward slowly.

The black cat looked at me. "Luna, your resistance is useless! I will take you over, and I will succeed this time. You can't stop me.", she hissed.

I felt my fur bristle. "No! It won't end like this!", I spat, lunging at the black cat.

I felt claw tear flesh as I raked her sides. She bit my back hard, and flew me off her. I lay on the ground, dazed, as she lept at me. She pinned me down and held her paw to my throat.

"Yes it will.", she hissed in an eerily quiet voice.

I flailed myself and shook her off. "You won't win, Nightmare Moon!", I yowled.

Nightmare Moon just laughed. I lunged at her throat, and raked her face. Nightmare Moon slashed at my chest, and I fell to the ground. She went for my throat again, but this time, I got up and lept into the air. I landed heavily on the dazed Nightmare Moon. She flailed helplessly, then went limp. I loosened my grip a bit, then she lunged straight in the air. She sent me soaring to the ground. I then tried to get up, but lost conciousness.

I woke up later. I saw Nightmare Moon towering over me. I sat confused.

"Why won't you kill me?", I asked, speaking my thoughts.

Nightmare Moon's icy eyes met my sky blue ones. She spoke in such a violent, murderous voice that I found myself shuddering.

"Because then you can't suffer. You can't watch the destruction of this world, and you can't watch the murder of your sister. You won't truly suffer if I end you."

I narrowed my eyes. I lunged at her again, but found her paw gripped to my throat. I took it in my jaw and bit so hard I felt bone crack. Nightmare Moon's eyes widened in the pain. I got up, standing tall. Nighmare Moon lay on the ground, quivering in fear.

"I may not suffer if you kill me, but you will if I kill you.", I meowed. I unsheathed my claws, looking into Nightmare Moon's eyes. The fear in them ment nothing as my claws met her throat. The black cat struggled for a moment, then went limp. I just simply stared as her spirit faded away.

I know, I know, that was REALLY short. But I really wanted to write this. I was thinking of putting a part with one of the Mane Six in it, but then I thought it'd be too long for me. Besides, I gave you lots of violence and action as Luna regained control of her mind.

Since this one was super short, I'll make the next one extra long.
