Chapter 8-Seeing Matthew

Kendall's POV:
Summer Camp used to be fun. I came here from the ages 6-10. When I was 10, the WORST possible thing happened. This girl named Emma pulled my pants down while we were roasting marshmallows! I got so embarrassed! I haven't came to Summer camp for 2 years. This year, my dad pretty much forced me to come. I don't want to come to this lame Summer camp! What if Emma's here? If she's here, I'm leaving.
The first activity was canoeing. Canoeing is sometimes fun, except for when you get tipped over into the water by Emma!

As I got into the canoe, I heard a familiar voice.
"Kendall!"
Who is that?
"Kendall!" I heard again.
I turned around. OH MY GOD. IT'S MATTHEW!!!! Matthew used to be my BEST friend when I used to come to Summer Camp. I took a full scan of his body. Instead of crocs, he was wearing converse. Instead of a turtle neck, he was wearing a normal t-shirt. He got his braces off. He doesn't have a mo-hawk anymore. Wow, Matthew has REALLY changed. Ugh, Puberty.
"Hey Matthew!" I said, hugging him.
"Where have you been the past 2 years?" He asked.
"I took a break. Remember EMMA? The one I HATED?!"
"Oh, Emma moved to LA to pursue her singing career."
We both started cracking up. Emma is a HORRIBLE singer.
"I'm glad I came to Summer Camp." I said.
"I've missed you."
"Me too." Said Matthew. "You better hang out with me this summer!"
"I will." I promised. And that was true.
Maybe Summer Camp wasn't such a bad idea after all. I think I kind of have a crush on Matthew. No, Kendall! You can't have a crush on Matthew, he's your best friend! Wait, he can still be my best friend if we're dating, right? I hope so...
