Kendall's POV:
I ended up losing the swim race to Kenzie, no surprise.
It was lunch time. I sat next to Matthew, Kenzie, and Lucas.
"So... I guess it's not a secret that you guys are dating?" Asked Kenzie, biting her lip.
"I guess..." I answered, not looking up from my plate.
"Is that a good thing?" Asked Lucas.
"I don't know." I replied, quickly.
"Awkward..." murmured Mackenzie.
It was awkward. So, I just got up and left. I walked into the cabin, and sat on the bottom bunk of my bed. All of a sudden, Matthew walked in.
"Matthew! You're not allowed to be in here, it's the girls cabin!" I whisper-yelled, panicking.
"I know." Said Matthew. "But I need to talk to you."
"Okay?" I replied, worrily.
"Since we're best friends, you know. Well, I know that we like each other, a lot..."
I knew where this was going.
"But, I don't think the dating thing is going to work out."
"Me either." I answered, honestly. "But I really like you." I pouted.
"Yeah. Do you think we could MAYBE start dating again when school starts? I'll come to all your dance competitions, I promise."
"Maybe." I said. "Just maybe."
Matthew's POV:
I walked back to the boys cabin and sat on my bed.
I wish life was easier. I really like Kendall. She's so pretty, nice, kind, un-selfish, caring, giving, beautiful inside and out, and so much more. The dating thing is obviously not working out, but I wish it did. We're still friends, though. Best friends, in fact. I hope we can always be best friends our whole lives, no matter what happens. I looked at the digital clock on the desk. The time was 11:11. I wished that no matter what happens, Kendall and I would always be best friends. I just hope the "11:11 make a wish" thing is true.
