the next day, I wake up to the sound of someone moving, so I sit up, it was the early morning and everyone appeared to be asleep as I looked around and my eyes met Minho's, "sorry did I wake you" he said in a quiet tone as to not wake the others, "its fine" I responded, as Minho stands up and starts to head to the exit he walks past me, "you should get back to sleep its very early", I look up at him as I am still in my hammock, "are you going running?" I say as I stand up, Minho turns back to look at me, and he nods, "yeah why?" he asks me, "why go this early?" I ask him out of curiosity, "because-" Minho then gets cut off when Alex appears at the exit, "oh morning you two" he says as his eyes dart to the both of up, "hey" Minho says, "what's taking you so long Minho?" Alex asks, with a small hint of frustration almost as if he was annoyed that me and Minho was talking, before Minho could say anything I responded, "sorry I was busy speaking to Minho", Alex looks at me and thinks for a few moments, "mhm, well Minho we are late come on, see you later newbie" he says as he waves and runs off as Minho glances at me before following behind him, "bye" I mutter, as I lie back in my hammock and wait a few hours until everyone else is up.
the day was quite relaxing so far, as me and clint were in the med-bay, "clint" I say as clint stops cleaning the floor and looks up at me, "yeah?" he asks, "Alby told me what you said, thank you" I tell him, he just smiles and continues cleaning, "its no problem, you deserve it and this way I get to do what I like and that's just looking after people instead of the whole blood side of it, so its a win win" he says as he lets out a small chuckle, I look up at him and smile, "well I really appreciate it clint, do you want to check in on Dylan? I can finish up the cleaning" I ask him, he looks at me and nods, "he asked me earlier how long he will be stuck there, what should I tell him?" I think for a moment, "possibly bed rest for a few days or until he can walk but after that a few weeks of no work or very little work" I answer him, clint nods and leaves the room to tend to Dylan as I then continue cleaning the med-bay.
Around 20 minutes later I hear clint shout me name, I walk into the room where Dylan was standing with clint holding his arm for support, "look newbie, Dylan is standing" clint says as it looks like Dylan wincing in pain a little, "woah, lie back down" I say as I rush over to Dylan, but Dylan just looks at me, "I am fine its" Dylan tries to reassure me as he chuckles at my reaction, "are you sure?" I doubt him, he looks at me and nods, "can I see gally?" he asks me, "yeah i will go and get him" i say as i leave the med-bay and i walk over to an area where is assume gally would be.
i start to walk over to gally, "hey gally!" i say as i approach him, he stops what he is doing and look around then looks at me, "yeah?" he asks as i am now standing in front of him, "Dylan's leg is fine, he can stand on it and he wants to see you" i tell him, "ok, do you know why?" he asks me as we start to walk to the med-bay, "i am not sure honestly" i respond, once we reach the med-bay, Dylan is now lying in bed as he sees gally enter "gally!" Dylan shouts with a happy expression, he stands up with the help from clint, and then he walks over to gally "you had me worried shank" gally says as he hugs him, "what did i scare you?" Dylan jokes, it was clear to me that the pair of them were really good friends, "you know what i want?" Dylan asks Gally, which gally responds with a confused look, "what?" he asks, Dylan responds, "well i didn't know if i would walk again, and hey i can, so i want some of your secret recipe" he says, gally smiles, "get some rest shank and i will make some and we can celebrate tonight, i will tell Alby and the others" gally says as he leaves, Dylan then lies back in bed, and i look at clint and Dylan confused, "gallys secret recipe?" clint then responds, "did you not have that at the bonfire?" he asks me, i shake my head, "its this concoction gally created it, we don't know what its made of but it does the job" Dylan says, i look at him confused, "does the job?" clint and Dylan both chuckle which only confuses me more, "you will understand eventually" Dylan says, "if you say so anyway i have cleaning to get back to" i say as i brush it off and continue to clean.
As it gets darker, and people start to gather outside at the bonfire for a party, me and clint go through to Dylan, "ready for your party?" i ask him, "you know it" Dylan says as he starts to stand, and clint goes over to his side and puts his arm over his shoulder, "i can do it man" Dylan says to clint, "its just so there is no extra stress put on your leg" i tell Dylan as we head to the party, and Dyaln gets greeted by everyone as they are all asking him how he is doing, i just walk over to Newt, "hey newt" i say as i approach him, "hey yn, well done about dylans leg" i smile at him, "thanks, how has your day been" newt thinks for a moment a little surprised almost as if he doesn't hear this question ofter, "yeah my days been fine just dragged on what about your day?" he ask me, "same honestly",
"the runners are back!" someone shouts, as me and newt look over to see Alex and Minho enter as they run towards the gathering confused, "what is all this for?" Alex asks, Gally walks over and says, "Dylan can walk again" Gally says as he takes a drink of this strange liquid, then i hear alby shout and everyone looks to where he is, he is standing on a table, "everyone I just want to make a quick announcement" as he says this everyone goes quiet, "due to the newbies skills at taking care of Dylan-" he was cut of my most of the builders cheering for me as i could feel people looking at me my face turns a little red, as Alby continues, "she has now been promoted to keeper of medics and i have also been told by a source she has yet to try gallys drink".
the crowd laughs a little as someone pushed the strange liquid i saw gally consume earlier into my hand, "hope you enjoy it like the rest of us" Alby jokes a little, i look at the liquid as i could feel people looking at me waiting for me to drink it,as nerves build up in my stomach "screw it" i mutter, as i take a rather large drink of it, as it was in my mouth it tasted vile, i almost gaged but i forced myself to swallow it, then i started coughing as everyone cheered, "that's the best bloody reaction i have ever seen" i hear newt shout, as the crowed laughed and a few even patted me on the shoulder.
a few hours after the party started i walk over to Dylan as he seemed quite quiet, "hey Dylan are you ok?" i ask him, he looks at me and smiles weakly, "yeah i am ok just a little tired" he says, i look at his leg and ask him, "is it sore, your leg?" he looks down at his leg and mutters, "its getting that way, i look at him with a little sympathy, "it might be time to call it quits, i can walk you to the med-bay?" i ask him, he nods as we head to the med-bay, once we enter, he lies on his bed as i head to leave, "get a good sleep" i say, as Dylan responds, "ill try" and i head back to the others but as i was about to turn the corner of a building to reach the crowed of Gladers someone cuts in front of me and stops me from reaching the others.
