The floating lights were gathered near us now, circling us as though they wanted to hear what was going on themselves, in return casting light bright enough that we could clearly see the bright pink liquid that had once splattered on the ground, and the shoe prints till the end of the hallway.

"I don't know what's wrong. How could someone go in that room? That room is safe with the password, eye lock as well as a heartbeat lock, which could only be accessed by standing on a particular spot, heck it even has a full body scan system. It's impossible to break in there, how can someone go there, and most importantly who was it?" Hope was walking in a circle talking and trying to figure out how it happened.

"What if the duck agent accidentally opened it, like they have codes and it opens with their scan and stuff, right? It is possible that one of them accidentally went there and activated it, think." I explained my theory.

"It's an eight-digit password, I am pretty sure it is not a coincidence. It's someone else, some villain who broke into the agency quietly, or someone else, someone among us." she said, a little scared of the possibilities.

"Let's do this, I'll take this as evidence, you go and check everyone's shoes. See which shoe has this liquid stuck to it. Ok?"

"Ok, I'll check," I said, parting ways from her, I took a handful of the floating lights and moved forward to where everyone was sleeping.

I started looking at the shoes of everyone sleeping from one side of the room. Strangely enough, when I reached where I was sleeping, something felt strange. There was Snowman, my teacher and two other superheroes, Leam and Wind were sleeping. All of them did not have their shoes next to their makeshift beds. If I think back, I too woke up with no shoes near my bed, when I was quite sure I had my shoes here when I fell asleep.

It seemed so strange, I looked around to find some sleeping duck agent's shoes missing too, strange indeed.

I went back to report it all to Hope, who sat down to think.

"Do you think the weaponry is open right now too?" I asked.

She looked at me strangely, then jumped up to her feet, "Let's go, see if our culprit left anything for us or not."

We passed through the empty corridors which were eerily quiet now. The heavy metal door of the weaponry in sight. As expected, the door looked strange, I went forward to open it, only for my hand to go through it like nothing.

I looked back at Hope in shock.

"The door is a hologram," I exclaimed as she ran inside.

The weaponry looked like it was turned upside down by someone. The real door was standing open on the side, with serious damage on it, like someone had forcefully pulled the lock open.

"Looks like someone was looking for something important." Hope said, looking around.

"But who would want what from where?" I asked, trying to make sense of the situation.

"I don't know, weapons aren't missing maybe there was something hidden in here." Hope said, annoyed.

"So what are we gonna do?" I asked, panicking.

"So much for being a superhero." Hope scoffed.

"You are forgetting Useless, Useless Superhero." I said, glaring at her gorgeous face.

She just flicked her hair over her shoulder and stated looking around.

"I mean, if the person who broke in could find nothing, how could we find something? And we don't even know what we are looking for." I whined.

"How about this, we should barricade the door and discuss this with sir in the morning?" I suggested. She sighed but agreed.

We removed the hologram door and placed electric barricades on the entrance.

"Who do you think can do it?" I asked as I saw Hope deep in thought when we walked back to our beds.

"I don't know, our CCTVs are acting out lately, I doubt we can get anything through them." She replied, her lovely fave pulled in concentration.

"Wait." I cried halting with a start. Hope looked at me in alarm. "What?" she asked.

"So it was just you?" I asked, looking at her, making her frown in confusion.

"Nothing, just that I always thought your face glows because of that tablet you are always holding by your face. Turns out you glow even in this dark corridor." I explained, my voice casual.

She stared at me for a minute, her mouth agape.

"You know you are unbelievable." She said, bewildered.

"Nah, just honest."

She shook her head in disbelief but her pink cheeks made it hard for her to appear mad.

Well, at least this night had one positive thing, I saw the prettiest shade of pink on the prettiest girl I ever saw.
