Inside of the forest, we walked in silence at first. It was my second time since I was young to walk inside of this one. This forest was at the complete opposite direction of the one I usually went to and weird things would often happened in the one we entered. My attention on every sound or broken branches that could betray the individuals presence, I knew they were close. I walked closer to Lancelot and looked away while whispering so it wouldn't be suspicious.
Y/N: They're at less then one mile, don't look at me or they'll attack earlier if we doubt their presence. They might already be circling us, tell the King to already be ready for an attack and that if they're the same attackers as last time, that they have long-distance weapons. Always be paired in two. One hiding, one on the ground.
He walked closer to the King and had the same silent conversation as he had with me. His Highness looked at me and nodded. Lancelot was back next to me.
Lancelot: The King will be going with Sire Percival and told us to fight onto the right. When he'll stretch, we go and come back when it's over.
I looked at him and he did the same for a second. I was the one who saw the signal and tossed but grabbed his arm for a second. He followed quickly but I couldn't help but to let slid a little comment.
Y/N: You should keep your focus my dear Sir. I don't want the highest knight to be lamentably left behind.
We continued our run and I could hear steps not far from us. I told the Sire to stay under the next tree and without waiting for his next words, I climbed inside of it in a jump. He was about to protest but he turned around when five guys were in front of him. I whispered Lancelot to do a distraction and that I would help him up after. He said the name of the King and looked in a specific direction like he was really there. The individuals effectively looked behind them but when they understood there wasn't anyone, it was too late. I had took his hand while he gave himself a push. I pulled him up quickly but to make him lend in front of me in complete silence, I had to catch him in my arms and hold him to keep him from doing any movement with his loud metallic armour. I held him close and he put his hand to maintain himself against the tree. It was at this moment that I realized our close position. Facing each other, I had my left arm around his waist and he still had a grip onto my right hand that he had pinned to the tree next to my head. It wasn't comfortable at all with all the metal he had on him but I just blushed, our noses touching. I saw one of his leg slipping from the branch so I intertwined mine with his so he could rest it. I looked onto my left in complete embarrassment and it was the worst possible thing I could have done. His warm breath against my neck, I had the feeling he was even more closer and I couldn't just look at him while I wished he could have put his lips...
-: Let's go this way, two groups and make it quick.
We heard the small amount of people split themselves and their steps began to go away. Now, it was going to be more easy since it was our turn to be after the enemy. The knight tried to already separate each other but I gripped him quickly and pinched one of his behind quills. He wanted to protest but he actually waited. One minute after, the steps of a last guy I was aware of went away, thinking it was clear now. I smirked at the Sire Lancelot but all I felt was his hold on my right hand grow tighter and his chest and face even more closer. Maybe it was just my imagination but I managed to whisper.
Y/N: Shadow, we... Have to go and help the King quickly.
Lancelot: Be careful to use my name in the right moment Y/N.
I was kind of taken-back by his saying but I let go of his waist. We finally part away and climbed down the tree.
Y/N: Well, we're lucky I'm so good at knowing the presence of the enemy.
Lancelot: I'm sorry, Y/N.
He took my hand and kissed it while kneeling down.
Lancelot: I'm presenting you my deepest apologies for you putting into this close situation. I hop-
Y/N: Lancelot, we have no time for this! The gallantry is one of the last things to be useful in combat, as far as I know, so let's go.
We ran and I told him some last orders.
Y/N: Lancelot, you'll second me onto this attack and stay in the shadows.
I looked at him, trying to see his reaction. He was exasperate by my joke-effort. Anyway, I told him that I was going to lure them.
