The important POVs are Lexington, True, Mandolin (Man-dough-lin), & Don soon. The reason I will throw in POVs for Avery, Jay, & Ali (possibly Java) is to make chapters longer and to have insights of other characters. But as you can see, I'm mostly bouncing between main characters POVs.

Mind Games

Lexington Wells POV

I was laying on the couch, watching The First 48 and smoking cigarettes. I was in my own world, where Mando loved me and was marrying me.

As if that'd ever happen. In what life time would it happen? Not this, that's for sure. She hooked on True Bennington. What's so special about her?

Oh, who am I kidding? She's gorgeous! Smooth light colored skin that reminded me of brown sugar mixing with melted butter, big dark brown eyes that seemed kind and happy, long, pretty black hair that was inky and flys away in the wind I bet, and those damn freckles make her look so innocent.

Who wouldn't want to be with that beautiful girl?

I heard a knock on the door and I swallowed my envy. I opened the door and regretted it.

Mandolin stood there, smiling down at me. I frowned, checking my watch. Her girlfriend must've already been at work.

"Hey ma." she said, stepping inside my apartment uninvited.

"What'chu want Mandolin?" I said, pursing my lips.

She laughed, "You mad at me?"

"What am I to you?" I asked, feeling my attitude drain and emptiness set in.

"You my lil shawty, my lil mama, why wassup?" she said, embracing me into her arms.

"I wanna be more than your "lil mama" or "lil shawty" or your sideline, Mando. I wanna be your girl." I stressed.

She sighed, "Lexington, you more than my sideline. I got so much love for you. You special to me, you got a special lil place in my heart."

"Do I really?" I asked, feeling my cheeks spread into a smile.

"You do, and you're beautiful." she said, touching my chocolate skin and big full lips.

"No I'm not.. Not like your girlfriend." I said, feeling myself frown. "You don't love me like you love her."

"Let's no talk 'bout True, we go talk 'bout me and you." Mando said, pressing our lips together. "I wanna make love to you."

She wanted to make love to me. So that meant, she loved me right? You didn't make love with someone you didn't love. Did you?

I found myself nodding to Mando. She carried me to the bedroom and threw me on the bed, where I bounced up slightly and fell back down.

I watched her trade the regular purple strap we used for the longer pink one. Did she really love me? I'm pretty sure I was in love with her. Did she feel the same or was this all a twisted mind game for her?

And if so, was she winning?

True Bennington POV

"Good morning, Avery. Shoot with Doral in room 253." I said.

She frowned at me and gently patted my hand, "Good morning True."

I was confused. She smiled sadly at me before walking away. Why did she keep looking at me like that?

For the past three days she's been smiling sadly and patting my hand, shoulder, or even my back. Once she even hugged me and rubbed my back.

"Hey beautiful. I brought coffee." Don said, she handed me a iced latte and I smiled gratefully at her.
