The Forest of Mirkwood wasn't like the Forbidden Forest. It was a million times worse. From the moment the Dwarves, Bilbo, and Harry and his friends entered the Forest, it was apparent that Mirkwood had a dark layer of magic on it. Even with all their so called Protective Charms, the Forest of Mirkwood could overpower it. And the only thing besides the trees was a stone path right in front of the party.

Harry was feeling dizzy as they walked the path. And he was fairly certain that it wasn't Voldemort messing with his mind. He wasn't alone. Soon, he could see his friends feeling the same way. "I feel like we're being screeched at by Mandrakes." Neville commented putting his hand to his head like he had a massive headache.

"We need to keep moving." Hermione insisted. "It's... it's nothing more than just a trick." But she started looking around her nervously. "Although, I've never heard of a magic doing something like this."

"There has to be Wrackspurts all around us." Luna said. "It's the only explanation."

"Air, I need air!" Bofur begged.

"My head, it's spinning!" Oin exclaimed. "What's happening?"

"Keep moving!" Thorin ordered trying to keep people together.

"Ah!" Ginny screamed like she could see something moving through the Forest. Like a Giant snake. "Not another Basilisk!" She started to shoot a bunch of spells through the trees.

"Ginny! Calm down!" Harry ran over and grabbed Ginny.

"No! No! Get off me!" Ginny demanded as she tried to get free.

"Ginny. There's no basilisk. It's just us." Ron insisted grabbing Ginny's other arm. It made Ginny look around her breathing in heavy.

"Oh..." Ginny groaned.

"Ginny. We have to keep moving. We'll be fine, we just have to stay on the path and keep moving-" Hermione assured. But she bumped into Balin. And the reason for that was because Nori had stopped going forward.

"Nori, why have you stopped?" Thorin demanded to know what was going on.

"The path, it's disappeared." Nori answered.

"What?" Harry looked in front to see that the path in front had disappeared. "Okay, we need to double back-"

"A bit late for that, Harry." Luna pointed to the path gone behind them.

"It can't be!" Hermione exclaimed. "The path was just in front of us!" She jumped in to see. "Oh, Merlin! We've lost the path! But... but how?"

"What's going on?" Ori asked.

"Gandalf said if we got off the path, we would never find it again." Ron pointed out. "I say now is the time to panic."

"No." Thorin shot down. "Find it. All of you, look."

"Look for the path!" Dwalin also yelled.

A few days later, and there was no sign of any path. No food. No rest. And no sign of a quarry with what only bare rock could tell as everyone was spread out in the Forest looking for a way to get out.

"I don't remember this place, none of it's familiar." Balin commented.

"We should go back and backtrack." Hermione suggested.

"We can't. There's no where to backtrack through." Neville pointed out. "We'll probably end up Doxy food at this rate."

"It's got to be here." Hermione looked around. "Revelio." But nothing was coming to her.
