I looked down the beach at the children running from the waves that threatened their ankles. I kept walking feeling the cool ocean water at my ankles. It was about seven at night. There was a small breeze, it had just stormed so it had cooled off some. I pulled my sweater tighter on my shoulders and crossed my arms. I was walking by my self soaking up everything that had happened today. I kicked out my leg and watched the water splash in front of me.
The thing about life is it throws the most unexpected things your way, one day your with your abusive boyfriend, the next your with a guy you know you have to spend the rest of your life with. I wish someone would have told me growing up was so difficult. It's not easy as you think it is when your little. This past year has changed me so much. I wish some of the stuff hadn't happened, but it's all apart of a bigger plan. With out all that heart break and trouble, I wouldn't be where I am right now. Who knows I might, probably still be with Carter if he hadn't tried to rape me that night. Or I would still be with Chance if he hadn't have hit me. Life can turn on a dime and you can't do anything to stop it.
I was pulled out of my thought when I heard a whistle come from my high right. I looked and saw a tan looking guy staring at me. I shook my head and kept walking, I was almost at the pier and then I'd turn around. I finally reached the pier about five minutes later. I saw someone standing at the edge of the water. I realized it was Chance. He looked my way before I could turn around. He smiled and jogged my way. He was much tanner since the last time I had saw him.
"Hey fintry." He said with that smile I used to be in love with. I smiled and greeted him. "I was just thinking about the last time we were on this beach." He said looking out at the waves crashing down. I nodded and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. "So are you still with him?" I saw some emotion flash in his eyes, I couldn't tell what it was. I felt my self grin. "Yeah." I replied looking at my feet.
"You look great, by the way." He said shoving his hands in his pockets.
"Thanks. You look....healthier since last time I've seen you." I said meeting his gaze. He grinned. "So how's the baby?"
"Elizabeth is great." I saw the love for his child shin in is eyes.
"That's honestly great." I said actually meaning it.
He opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by someone yelling. "Well that's my cue. Good to see you." He said and wrapped his arms around me. I was taken off guard by this, I quickly wrapped my arms around his neck and he let go soon after. He jogged up to the pier and gave me one final wave. I waved back before turning around and walking back to the house.
I got back a little after eight. I walked up the steps to the balcony and saw Elliot sitting there. He stood up and walked over to me. He pressed his lips against mine and pushed me up against the railing. After a few moments he pulled away. "Happy six months princess." He said putting his hands on my waist. I smiled up at him. Six months, over half of those he was in a coma, but six months. I bit my lip and looked up at him.
"I love you so much baby, these six months have been amazing, I don't want just six months I want sixty years." He said before kissing me again. This was bliss, the thought of spending sixty more years with him sent butterflies soaring through my stomach. He pulled back. "I love you to." I whispered as I leaned into his chest. He smelt amazing. I breathed in his scent and we stayed like that for a while. I heard a loud pop and I looked and saw fireworks above us. I stood on my toes and kissed Elliot as the fireworks went off. It was probably the most cliche moment of our relationship, but whats love without a little cliche romance? He pulled apart and we went inside. He pulled me on the couch and a hot and heavy make out session occurred after that. We had both already decided our first time would be on our wedding night.
