Chasing Fintry

Chapter fourteen-i can hear the bells

Three months. It had been three months since Chance had last hit me. It was now mid January. I stepped into the warm café building. I saw his smiling face as he stood up to greet me.

"Hey beautiful." he said and kissed my temple. "hey." I said sitting down. "I ordered your coffee already." He said holding my hand from across the table.

I smiled. "have you finished that project yet?" I asked. he shook his head. I made an O with my mouth and sipped my coffee.

" I would never hurt you and i love your the only one I could and would ever want." he said standing up. I felt my heart stop. "I love you so much." he said getting down on one knee. I felt tears pricking my eyes. "Fintry will you marry me?" he asked pulling out a tiny black box.

My throat felt like cotton I couldn't speak so I just nodded holding out my hand. He slipped the ring on and kissed me. I laughed and wiped my eyes gently. "I will never let you down baby." he said against my lips. I smiled before connecting our lips.

"I can already hear the bells." He said grinning. I smiled and my stomach knotted. "come on we better get to class." He grabbed my hand and we headed to the first class.

We walked in and Wyatt engulfed me in a hug. "hey pretty thing." He said grinning. "There's something different about you." He said inspecting me. I laughed and held out my hand. "So he popped the big question?" I nodded.

Wyatt changed his sight to Chance. "If you hurt her, you will never be able to walk again. That's not a threat that's a promise buster." Wyatt said clenching his fist.

"Don't worry she's my angel." He said and kissed my forehead. I smiled and looked up at him. Then that blonde stopped beside him. "Hey Chan, my place to study tonight? or yours?"

"Not now Kara." He said dismissing her. I stifled a laugh and turned away.

Chance pulled me close. "play nice." He whispered in my ear. "Fine Chan." I said in a high voice, while smirking. He laughed. "Your horrible babe." He said still laughing. I shook my head and went to my seat.

I sighed and worked on my homework. I heard a knock on the door. "Come in." I chirped. In came a angry looking Elliot.

He cussed some before actually speaking to me. "Your engaged." He yelled angrily. "I was gonna tell you. I didn't have time."

"Save it."

"Elliot." I begged.

"How could you be so stupid Fintry. He's using you. How can you not see that." He said frustrated.

"He loves me." I whispered.

"No love isn't hitting someone. I saw him hit you that first day. You need someone other than him. Your an angel. He's gonna hurt you." He yelled tugging on his hair. "I love you Fintry." He said stepping closer. " I don't want you getting hurt." He whispered grabbing my hand putting his forehead against mine. His lips grazed mine. It took me a few seconds to come to my senses. How could something so wrong feel so perfect.

"I can't do this." I said stepping back trying to get my emotions in track. Elliot started to leave. "Elliot don't go."

"It's to late. You picked him. I won't always be around Fintry. Don't come crying to me when he cheats on you or breaks your heart." He said dropping my hand and walking out.

I felt my heart shatter. My knees went shaky. Why did I let him go. I bolted to the door, hoping I could catch him. I ran down the stairs. The cold air hit me like a smack in the face. I looked around but saw no sign of him. I leaned against the wall. I already knew I was gonna cry. I turned around and head into the building.

We had already lost each other once. What if this time was for good?
