In the extravagant dining room sat two figures who were eating breakfast in silence.
One was a tall man with a stern expression, while the other was a woman who sat comfortably in her seat, sipping her tea with a noticeable smirk on her face.
No one was speaking, but the tension in the room was palpable.
The servants and the knights moved about quietly, with their heads down, and some were even brave enough to steal glances at the two figures before quickly looking away.
The man's eyes never left his plate, not once sparing his wife a single glance, while the woman seemed unperturbed by his deliberate avoidance.
The clinking of silverware against plates was the only sound in the room, punctuating the heavy silence that enveloped the dining hall.
Finally, the man looked up and opened his mouth to speak after wiping his mouth with a napkin.
His eyes brushed past his wife's breathtaking face before settling on the servant standing nearby; he stood up indifferently.
"Invite the tailor at noon to the queen's chambers for the fitting," he commanded, his voice cold and authoritative.
The woman's eyes flickered with a hint of sarcastic amusement as she watched the king give orders without acknowledging her presence.
With an elegant flick of her wrist, she signaled for the servant to leave before turning her attention back to her meal, a small smirk playing on her lips.
Not at all caring to spare a single glance at the man's retreating figure.
Much to the surprise of the servants and the knights who were still lingering in the room.
She calmly continued her meal as if nothing had happened, leaving them all in a state of bewilderment at her nonchalant demeanour.
After all, it was known to the entire kingdom how obsessed the queen was with winning the king's affection.
She would constantly look at him with longing eyes, hoping for even the slightest bit of attention from him.
But now she even managed to give the king a look of indifference!
It was a drastic change from her usual behaviour, which left the servants confused.
They exchanged puzzled glances and turned back to look at the queen, who was sitting at the other end of the table, completely unfazed by the clatter around her.
There was even a small arc playing on her lips.
At this moment, no one knew what thoughts were running through her mind.
After finishing the last bite of her meal, she stood up gracefully and left the dining room without saying a word.
As she walked through the palace corridors, her expression remained unchanged—a playful smile tugged at the corners of her lips, leaving those servants who crossed her path wondering what had sparked her sudden enigmatic mood.
The queen in everyone's eyes had always been quite reserved and dignified, so this unexpected display of lightheartedness with a slight mischievous edge was a topic of conversation among everyone for days to come.
Partnered with her sudden change of aura, the way she dressed today was also a departure from her usual regal attire.
She normally liked to wear elaborate gowns with rich colours and intricate jewellery, but today she was dressed in a dark velvet flowing robe that seemed to hug her figure in a more casual yet elegant way, giving off an air of seductive confidence and power in a more understated way.
