Ready or Not

I knocked on the door 3 times before waiting. After a few moments, the door opened to a guy with dark brown hair.

"Oh, hello," the guy said as he smiled and I felt Ethan's hand on my waist.

Right then, Leah came up behind him and when she saw me, she squealed.

"Issabelle! You're finally here! I have so much to tell you," she said as she grabbed my hand and pulled me in.

I flinched, almost yanking my arm out of her hand but she didn't seem to notice.

She was jumping up and down in excitement as I looked behind me to see Ethan entering the living room with the guy right behind him.

"Wh-Who is that?" I asked her and held onto her shoulders but instead of calming down, she squealed again. This time, she covered her mouth.

"That, is Hector Uzziah. He is my mate," she said as she glanced at him in the kitchen and my eyes widened.

"Your mate?!" I almost screamed and grabbed her hands when she nodded. We both started jumping up and down.

"Y-You found your m-mate!" I said and hugged her tight. It was nice to see her so happy and bouncy.

We finally calmed down and I sat down beside Ethan as he slung his arm over my shoulders.

"So, are aunt Karen or Ben home?" I said and Leah shook her head.

"Mom will be home in 2 hours or so, and as for Ben, he should be here soon," I nodded and leaned my head on Ethan's chest.

Leah was also cuddled up next to her mate with his arm around her and his eyes watching her every move. I wonder...

I looked up to see Ethan staring at me as well and our eyes met. He turned his head away and blushed a little.

It was too cute!

I snapped out of it when the front door opened and Ben came in with Madelyn right behind him.

"B-Ben, Maddy," I said and got up. Ben looked at me with a smile and gave me a hug.

"Isabelle!" Maddy said as she jumped into my arms and hugged me tight. I returned her hug, a little confused.

*Who is she?* Ethan asked through mind link and I almost jumped with joy.

*Ben's mate,* I said as she pulled back and all of us settled in the living room.

The time passed by in a blur as we all talked and joked and soon enough, the front door opened.

Aunt Karen came in, looking as tired as ever and I jumped up.

"Aunt," I said as I approached her with a big smile and when she saw me, she looked away before looking at me again with a grin.

"Welcome. When did you come over? You didn't even let me know," she said as I hugged her.

"I-It was supposed t-to be a s-surprise," I said and she smiled.

"It was an amazing surprise. I will be back after changing," she said and left which felt odd but I shrugged it off.

"Let m-me get s-some water," I directed it at everybody  and went to the kitchen.

I prepared myself a glass of water and gulped it down in one go. Right then, my nose perked up and my heart skipped a beat.

I felt strong arms wrap around my waist and I melted in the embrace. He kissed my mark and nuzzled his face in my neck, making me squirm as I tried to hold in my laughter.
