His One and Only

The Date

I finally came back to my room and threw myself onto the bed with a big sigh. Such a long and tiring day.

The former Luna, Grace, was a very tiring and annoying person but I had no other choice. Besides, she was a great teacher.

She taught me all the basics I needed to know in order to take over atleast some of the workload and I truly felt proud of myself for making progress.

I was so excited to finally see Ethan and tell him all this but he was nowhere to be found. I had seen Harry when he had come to take Vanessa for a date earlier, but not Ethan.

Maybe I could prepare a dinner date for Ethan tomorrow? That sounded like a good idea. I wouldn't let him run away tomorrow for sure!

Right then, the door opened and for the first time today, I saw my mate. His face held traces of exhaustion but he looked as handsome as ever.

I smiled at him and stood up from the bed, walking towards him. I stood right in front of him and waited for him to give me a kiss, but he just stared at me before going into the bathroom.

My cheeks heated up and I covered my face with my hands. My beating heart slowed down and I felt stupid.

'What's wrong with him? He has been acting strange lately, and not to mention, I haven't been seeing much of him,' I said to Liz as the wheels in my head turned and she shrugged her wolf shoulders.

'Maybe he's just super busy and you will start to see more of him when you start working?' Liz said and I felt myself feeling a little better.

'Maybe, or he is seriously mad at me for something I did. Anyhow, I'll find out tomorrow.'

My heart raced as I thought of tomorrow and how I was gonna decorate the garden. I felt like a five year old keeping a secret. Hehe.

I got under the covers and waited. I wanted to see him one last time before sleeping, but alas, my eyes felt droopy and I fell asleep before I knew it.

I woke up and rubbed my eyes before my hand automatically felt the spot next to me. With a sigh, I retreated my hand and just admired the view outside from the window.

Was he ignoring me because I did something? Or because I didn't do something? Maybe he found someone better?

My heart clenched and my breathe hitched.

Was he going to throw me out now, or keep me to beat me up?

A lump formed in my throat and tears filled my eyes. I needed to fix this before it was too late. I didn't want to end up at square one, and not to mention, I cared for him.

I went to the bathroom, took a long, relaxing shower and wore my training clothes.

I stared outside the window as I brushed my wet hair and felt my heart sink when I saw Ethan with Caroline. They looked like they were enjoying themselves and I clenched my teeth.

Was she that much better than me that he could smile like that with her but not me? Oh, who was I kidding, of course she was.

'Go to mate!' Liz said it repeatedly and I would've had to listen to her whining if I didn't do as she said. It was not like I wanted to know what they were doing...

'Yeah, right. Who are you trying to kid?' Liz said, taking a break from her rant.

'Myself...?' I said as I almost ran downstairs, ignoring Vanessa who called after me from the kitchen and went to MY mate.

"E-Ethan!" I called when I saw them and stopped running. I brisk-walked upto them as Ethan turned around and his smile got replaced with an emotionless face.
