Seonghwa:

We finally managed to have our day off. It was so nice, having one day without monster chasing and all the preparations for that. It was just a lazy day. I could spend it watching my drama and eating junk food. The perfect Sunday. It was the same for my brothers. They could finally relax and do what they love. Jongho didn't make new blades, instead, he was going around the house. San was stuck to his phone, texting that grim reaper. Even if we warned him about the dangers of messing around with one. Well, he was an adult who could make decisions for himself.

As I watched my drama, I heard Jongho walking behind me. He leaned over the sofa, looking at the TV screen, then at me. I took a better look at our youngest. His skin was tanned from the countless hours casting weapons, and the skin on his hands was rough. I could see the endless amount of scars and marks. Despite staying home while we hunted, he had more marks of hard work than we had.

"Hyung, I'm going to the market. Do you want anything?" Jongho asked me.

"Not really. Want me to come with you?"

"Nah, stay and watch your drama," he responded.

With those words, my brother left the house.

Jongho:

I decided to leave my brothers at home. They deserved to rest. And I needed some ingredients for tonight's dinner. The street market was the best place, I could buy some fresh fish and veggies. So I walked over there and took a look over the stands. The grannies recognized me, and all of them gave me a little something.

After about 30 minutes, I was almost done shopping and prepared to return home. As I walked out of the market, I smelled something. A fox. No, a gumiho. It was close by, and I could smell the blood it spilt. I had to go check it out. I followed the smell. It led me down the alley behind the market. And there I saw her. A three-tailed female fox. She had already taken a victim. The poor old man had no chance against her. Ah, a day off, and I had to take down a nasty fox.

I left my bags on the ground and took out my knives. Good thing I never left the house without a weapon. So, I tightened my grip and walked closer. I pretend to be a concerned citizen. So I hid my blade and reached my hand towards her. She wasn't even a bit startled. Instead, she looked me in the eyes. I saw how her pupils changed their shape.

"Are you okay, miss?" I asked her.

"No, someone attacked my dad! I can't stop the bleeding," she fake cried. Just like any other fox, she tried to lie. That was their usual technique to lure more victims. But I was prepared and played along with her lies.

"I think he's gone. Let's go call some help," I told her. I reached out a hand.

The fox took my hand. The moment she gripped me, she tried to pull me down, but instead, I pulled her. I caught her by surprise and managed to cut her face. I missed her neck. That angered her, and she sunk her nails in my shoulder. I could feel the pain piercing my body. But I couldn't run now. It was too late. I had to kill her, or she could kill me and the people around me. So I tried again, and this time, my knife got to the target. It just needed a little more to reach her spine. She took her hand out of my flesh and pierced me again on the same spot. The pain made me gather my power and push further. I could feel how the blade reached her spine, and I twisted it. Then we heard a popping sound before she fell dead on the ground.

She could be dead, but I was too careless when dealing with her. She managed to injure me badly, and I was losing too much blood. My vision was getting blurry, and my head was spinning. I could die here on the spot. That was why I never went on a hunt with my brothers. It wasn't for me. And I was dying because of that fact.
