Jongho:

Everything was in chaos. I knew something horrible was going to happen when Seonghwa came back home. And now everything was a mess. Three grim reapers were unconscious, and my older brother barely stayed awake. San tried to wake up his boyfriend while I tried to talk with Seonghwa. As for Yeosang, he didn't want to come closer to us. Yeo stood a couple of steps away from us. I could see fear in his eyes. What was going on?

"Hyung, what's wrong?" I asked Yeosang.

"Stay away from him! He smells like reaper's essence," Yeo mumbled, pointing at Seonghwa.

I couldn't understand what he said. Grim Reaper's essence? It was coming from Seonghwa hyung? How was that possible? Beomjoong hyung warned us it would be dangerous, but he said nothing about such a scenario. Why was this happening to us? We had to figure out what to do. We couldn't leave them in such a state.

"Hyung, call Doctor Jung. He will know what to do," I asked Yeosang.

I watched what Yeosang hyung called Yunho hyung. His hand were shaking the whole time they spoke on the phone. I could hear the trembling in Yeosang's voice. He was legit scared. My head was starting to hurt from all of that. All those people were on the floor. Seonghwa hyung was shaking and crying, and the suffocating feeling of that room. We needed to move out of here.

"Hyung, let's move them upstairs," I told my brother.

"Sure," San agreed.

We decided to move Seonghwa first since he was still awake. The two of us took our brother by the arms and lifted him. Seonghwa hyung could barely stand on his feet, yet he helped us carry him upstairs. We managed to put him in Beomjoong's office. After, we returned to the other three. We managed to bring them upstairs, placing them at some distance from one another. We had to put a lot of distance between Seonghwa hyung and Hongjoong hyung.

By the time we brought them all, Doctor Jung came to us with Doctor Song. I was surprised at how fast they managed to reach. I could tell they came straight from work. Doctor Jung and Doctor Song, were wearing their work clothes and had big medical bag with them.

Yunho:

"What did they do?" I asked, still in shock and disbelief.

"They made me whole again," Seonghwa mumbed under his tears.

"Once they wake up, I'm going to kill them!" I raised my voice.

Someone might think that immortals like them would be wiser after so many years. But here we were. My best friend, his brother and our little brother were unconscious, while Seonghwa acted as a mental asylum patient. Where was I supposed to begin? Maybe with the only one awake. The other ones were immortal anyway.

"Seonghwa, please look at me and tell me what happened," I told my patient.

"We were down there. Wooyoung held me in place because Beomjoong told him to. Beomjoong took off the talismans from my shadow. Then the shadow ran to me, and everything became white. I heard a loud bang in the distance. Then I came back to see Hongjoong's face." Seonghwa managed to explain everything he could remember. It wasn't much information to work with.

"Okay, then you," I sigh. "Mingi will check your vital."

I left Seonghwa in Mingi's hands. My husband could manage that much. I couldn't expect much of him. After all, Mingi was a regular mortal. I turned my attention towards the three blacked-out reapers. I couldn't evaluate which one of them was in a worse condition. Maybe Yeosang could help me. He could sense their essence levels better than a mortal like me. I turned to him.

"Yeo, tell me their stats," I asked of him.

"Wooyoung has the best condition. Hongjoong is badly wounded, and a bit of his essence is missing. As for Beomjoong, he has the worst condition. There is a lot of essence missing from his body," Yeosang reported to me.

"How low?"

"The levels are similar to human's," Yeo answered me.

For soul's sake! How could they do something like that to me? I rushed towards Beomjoong. If his essence was as low as Yeosang stated, his self-recovery wouldn't work. For soul's sake, he could turn into a human. There was nothing wrong with it. Under normal circumstances, but nothing tonight was normal. Not a single thing was normal. I quickly checked Beomjoong's vitals. Beom was breathing, but his heart was beating weak. And his body temperature was high to touch. I had to measure it. Soon, my worries were confirmed. Beomjoong was turning into a human. His body temperature was 36,5°C. That was too high for a reaper.

"San, hold Beomjoong's mouth open," I commanded.

The young hunter obeyed me. San opened Beom's mouth and waited for me. I had to try our only option at the moment. I opened my bag and searched. Why I couldn't find it? Never mind. I found it. I held the small vile in my hand. The crimson liquid inside of it was ready for use. That was our only chance to reverse the transformation. I poured the red liquid into Beomjoong's throat, hoping for the best.

"Hyung, what is that?" Yeosang asked me.

"Hongjoong's blood and essence," I answered.

It was time to check my other patients. There was nothing more I could do for Beomjoong. I went to Wooyoung next. There was almost no damage on him. He was asleep. Lucky Wooyoung. But I couldn't say the same for Hongjoong. There were a lot of wounds over his body. I could tell, he had lost a lot of blood. Did he fight a gumiho or something? Hongjoong-ah, you owe me drinks for the rest of my life.

"Babe, help me patch Hongjoong's wounds," I called Mingi.

...

Once we finished up, there was nothing else to do but wait. I was occasionally checking Beomjoong's temperature. It was not coming down. I couldn't do anything else for him. We could only pray for him to survive the transition. We sat down in complete silence. All of us were too shaken to speak. And it was for a reason. Those guys almost lost their lives doing something so reckless. I felt angry. I wanted to yell at them until they went def. I had to distract myself. Maybe learning a bit more about that mess could explain what went wrong.

"Yeo, do you have any thoughts on this matter?"

Yeosang looked around the room, stopping his gaze at Seonghwa. I saw the fear inside his eyes. We knew that Seonghwa caused their state somehow. But I had no idea what happened. Not to mention, I was no longer a grim reaper, and I couldn't see the same as Yeosang. I wish I could look through his eyes, for a moment, and understand better.

"I'm not entirely sure," Yeosang started. "I feel their essence coming from Seonghwa, especially Beomjoong's."

"So you are telling us Seonghwa stole their essence?" I asked in confusion. How was that possible?

The more we learned, the more complicated it got. My head was starting to hurt. I needed a break. Mingi patted his lap, and I didn't need more. Taking a quick nap could help me.
