Seonghwa:

Ever since I spoke with Hongjoong, my mind couldn't catch a break. I was thinking about what he said. The location, I was found. If he knew where I was found, maybe, just maybe, he knew what happened to my biological family. Or I could find it there. Were they alive? And if they were dead, how did they die? Did they leave me because they had no other choice? Even if I wasn't interested initially, now I wanted to know. I wanted to find out. Who I was supposed to become. Ugh, I couldn't get it out of my head.

I decided to go there in the end. But first, I needed to speak with that damn reaper. There was only one problem with that. I had no idea how to contact Kim Hongjoong. I never asked for his phone number, if he had one. I thought about ways I could contact him. The easiest was to ask San for help. His new pet could provide me with the information I needed.

"San-ah!" I called my brother.

"Yes, hyung?" my brother answered.

"Can you ask your pet for the phone of that short, grumpy reaper? His name is Kim Hongjoong," I asked San.

"Why? You fell for Hongjoong hyung?" San asked, having that mischievous look.

"It's a business matter," I answered him.

San gave me a suspicious glance before texting someone. It was probably his pet reaper. I was right. In less than a minute, I obtained the needed information. San then mentioned something about Hongjoong. Apparently, that reaper didn't read or respond to any texts. It was no problem for me. I intended to call him from the beginning.

I went to my room and locked the door. Otherwise, San could barge in. I looked at the screen, displaying his number. For some reason, I felt hesitant. Did I really want to find out? No, it wasn't the time for hesitation. I already had his number. I took a deep breath and called that number. Kim Hongjoong picked it up right away. As if, he was expecting my call.

"Did you change your mind?" Hongjoong asked me. I suspected that they warned him.

"Yes. Now tell me what you know," I ordered him. My frustration had built up.

"Ask me nicely, ungrateful mortal," the grim reaper hissed. Great, I pissed him off already.

"Please, Hongjoong!" I begged him. If my pride was the price, I was ready to sacrifice it.

I heard a chuckle on the other side. He was satisfied with my beg. Was that some entertainment for him? Ugh, fucking grim reapers! I was about to curse him out loud when I heard his voice. He gave me the coordinates and description of the place. It was an abandoned shrine in the middle of the forest. He warned me about the area. In his words, it was full of evil spirits. But no spirit could scare me. I thanked him for his help. I was about to hang up when I heard his voice again. Hongjoong warned me not to go alone. It was too dangerous for a single person. I ignored his warning and hung up the phone. It was my personal business, after all. I couldn't involve my brothers in it. Let alone someone else. I had to go there alone and find out.

...

Before I left, I took anything that could be of use. I took my favourite sword and knives, and also some protective charms. I wanted to get more. But I couldn't carry it all up in the forest. I needed to stay as light and fast as possible. I rode my bike to get there. However, I had to leave it halfway there. The forest path wasn't suitable for riding.

I stopped at the big field right before the forest path. Upon my arrival, I noticed someone else was there already. I could sense the dark energy around me, not to mention that feeling of cold gaze on me. I looked around, holding my knife. There was a dark figure standing on the tall rock behind me. A man in black, a fedora hat covering his face and gentle fabric, following the airflow. I knew very well who that was. I let go of my knife. There was no point in fighting Kim Hongjoong, even if I didn't like him.
