San:
I was standing in the armoury, preparing my weapons for vampire hunting. Due to the recent events in my family, I hadn't gone out for a hunt, and the monsters had gotten braver. My intel gave me information about a female vampire hiding in an abandoned hotel on the outskirts. She was going on a murder spree in the area. There were even a couple of cases of missing people, last seen close to the vampire hideout. I had to deal with this case before it became an even bigger problem.
I equipped myself with knives, my favourite sword and even a gun with silver bullets. I also packed tons of salt and talismans. Midway packing, Wooyoung joined me in the armoury. My beautiful boyfriend gave me a curious look before hugging me. I told him about my work earlier, and Woo was against me going on a vampire hunt alone. But there was no one I could take with me at the moment. Jongho was still healing, and Seonghwa was learning to control his powers.
"Sanie, why don't you leave it to someone else?" Woo chirped.
"Because we are responsible for this side of the city," I responded, rolling my eyes.
"But it's dangerous to go alone," Woo said, hugging me tighter. He paused for a moment before he added. "I'll come with you!"
I didn't mind Woo coming with me. At least I knew he couldn't get hurt. I agreed to his idea, and we prepared for the hunt. Soon, we left, ready to get rid of that vampire.
...
We arrived at the location before sunset. The best way to catch a vampire was while it was sleeping. So, the two of us walked into the abandoned hotel, going to the upper floor. Vampires liked high places, especially if they were large. I had my suspicions that the vampire was staying in the banquet room. We went there.
The grand banquet hall, once a place for celebrations, was now a stage for a vampire's liar. Crimson drapes, heavy and thick, obscure the room in an eerie twilight. At the centre, a colossal bed dominated the space, its canopy veiled by translucent crimson curtains.
Wooyoung and I took cautious steps into the hall. The air was thick with the scent of decaying roses, wet soil and a smell I could easily recognize – blood. There was fresh blood all over the place.
My eyes scanned the room, instantly drawn to three figures huddled together over the long mahogany table. The missing person cases were now hostages. Their faces were pale and drawn, but their eyes were empty. I was starting to wonder, if they were even alive when Woo whispered to me.
"They are alive."
I nodded, my grip tightening around my sword. At that moment, a low growl emanated from behind the crimson curtains, a sound that sent shivers down my spine. I looked towards the bed, waiting. The crimson curtains parted dramatically, revealing a figure of ethereal beauty yet chilling menace. The vampire, tall and slender with skin pale as the moonlight, stood at the foot of the bed. Her eyes, a deep, crimson hue, held an ancient power.
As she stepped forward, Wooyoung made a move towards the hostages, intending to shield them and get them out of there. But to Woo's surprise, the hostages attacked them, their eyes now filled with a feral glint. The vampire's spell has taken hold.
I glanced at my target when she attacked me. The clash of steel and supernatural strength echoed through the hall. With every strike, sparks fly, and the air crackles with tension. The vampire's movements were graceful, yet every blow carried the weight of centuries. I, fueled by adrenaline and determination, fought with ferocity. My monster hunter's blood was boiling, giving me the strength to fight. But it was difficult against the vampire's power.
The vampire, with a feral glint in her eyes, pinned me against the wall. Her fangs glinted in the dim light as she leaned in for the kill. I struggled to set myself free. Yet I couldn't get out of her grasp. I had to do something. My hand swiftly got a knife out and stabbed her in the stomach, but she didn't budge. Her fangs were about to pierce my neck when she got forcefully kicked aside. Wooyoung came to my rescue.
My lover stood between me and the vampire, his eyes filled with fury. The vampire, upon seeing Woo up close, hissed like a wounded animal. Her supernatural speed kicked in as she attempted to flee. But a shadowy figure emerged from the corner. With a swift movement, it hurled a talisman at the vampire, causing her to freeze in place.
We watched as the vampire struggled against the invisible force holding her captive. The shadowy figure revealed himself under the dim light. Tall and imposing, the man scanned the room before settling on the struggling vampire.
With a deep, resonant voice, he began to chant, his words weaving a tapestry of ancient power. As the chant grew in intensity, ethereal chains formed around the vampire, binding her to the spot. She howled, but the chains held her firm, their glow intensifying with her struggles. I had to take the chance while she was bonded.
With a quick, decisive motion, I swung my sword, severing the vampire's head from her body. A triumphant gasp escaped my lips as the body slumped to the ground. The head, still twitching, rolled to a stop at the shadowy man's feet.
Deep inside. I knew what he was. A shaman. He was someone who could help my brother. I turned my back to the dead vampire and looked at the shaman. I was about to talk with him when he turned to leave. But before he could take a step, I grabbed his arm.
"Wait," I said, my voice hoarse, "I need to talk to you."
The shaman's eyebrows furrowed in confusion as my grip tightened on his arm. A silent plea hung in the air. With a reluctant sigh, the shaman nodded, indicating his willingness to listen.
"Why?" the shaman asked me, his voice carrying a hint of scepticism.
"My brother, Park Seonghwa, needs your help," I said, feeling the urgency in my voice.
The shaman's expression softened as recognition dawned in his eyes.
"Very well," he replied.
Shaman:
Park Seonghwa... it's been such a long time since I've heard that name. The Park clan, once a beacon of hope in the fight against the monsters, had been decimated in a horrific massacre. The tale of their demise was a chilling cautionary story, a reminder of the darkness that lurked in the world.
For years, it was believed that no member of the Park clan had survived the catastrophe. But, could it be that a miracle had occurred? Could it be the same Park Seonghwa, the youngest and most powerful of the Park clan? My interest was growing. I had to check it myself to believe it.
I followed the hunter and his grim reaper companion. They were leading me to the cause of my curiosity. The mysterious man, who presented himself as the one member of the Park clan. I was sceptical about all of this. It was probably a fraudster, but my curiosity was tugging on me. I had to make sure.
