"What is her condition when you saw her?" Carl ignored the woman's jolly remark. Adrielle stood silent beside him.

Grace pocketed her excitement in meeting the president of the known Architecture Company. She looked at the road and recall the scene. "Uhm, she was unconscious and got some scrapes."

Carl's brows furrowed in confusion.
"Narrate your statement again. They didn't know what you witnessed," Mr. Daniels requested.

Grace nodded before speaking up. "I'm driving with my boyfriend and we followed this truck when we entered the intersection back there," she pointed to the route where they came from. "When we arrived here, the door of the truck suddenly opened and someone jumped out from it. Henry instantly stepped on the brake and we watched the woman roll here," she moved and stood on the edge of the road where some grasses grew.

"I quickly went out to check on her but she was unconscious. Her face was so pale. I was about to check on her pulse when the driver of the truck went down and pointed a gun at me.

He demanded for me to get back which I did. He then asked me to place my phone, which I was holding at that time, on the ground. My boyfriend was behind me and he asked him to bring down his phone as well. We obeyed him, and he commanded us not to tell the police if we want safety. Then he demanded that we move away and when we did, he picked up our phones and put them in his pocket. He pointed the gun at me before firing it into our car's tire. After that, he scooped Miss..." She looked at Carl for the name but it was Mr. Daniels who answered. "Alexis."

"Yeah. He took Miss Alexis and placed her in the back seat of the truck. He gave us a warning glare before going to the driver's seat and then drove away. When the truck vanished, I used my spare phone that was in the car to call the police."

Adrielle gasped after hearing the narration, relieved that it was the tire that was shot.

Carl pursed his lips tight and remained silent. He now saw the whole picture of what happened.

Alexis answered Adrie's call before jumping out. What could Jeff have done for her to choose to jump out?

"They cornered the truck already," Mr. Daniels told them after receiving a call. He instantly moved towards his car and the others quickly followed.

Soon, they arrived in a silent place that is already away from the crowded city. Darkness enveloped the area and the only lights were those that emerged from the police automobiles.

Carl instantly spotted a truck parked along the road, surrounded by police cars. With a tensed heart, he got out with Adrielle coming out also from behind him. He closed the door and a gunshot rang along with it. A police officer fired at Jeff's arm that holds the gun.

Groaning and cussing was heard from him and an officer quickly opened the door and pulled him out. As Jeff was being dragged away, Alexis was seen lying helplessly in the back seat where Jeff came from.

Upon seeing her, Carl ran immediately towards her but an officer held his forearm to stop him. The distance was enough for him to see a clearer view of her and her situation made him freeze.

Adrielle gasped beside him who was also stopped by a cop. "Lex," she exclaimed anxiously in tears with hands covering her hanging mouth.
Alexis was lying helplessly with hair messed over her pale face, her blouse stripped open, and her chest bare.

Carl clenched his fist and dashed towards the man who is struggling while being handcuffed. He was filled with rage that the officer who held his arm was not able to contain him.
Jeff received a strong blow from him, making him fall to the ground. "What did you do to her?" he yelled in anger.
