Chapter 21: On The Mend

Jeongin's POV:

When we get to our shared room, Chan stays just outside, looking unsure of whether he should enter or not.

I take his hand and lead him to the bed where everyone is sitting. He starts pulling back slightly, and I can hear him panicking in his head.

'What if they don't want me here? What if I make another mistake? I'm such an idiot! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! I promised I would never hurt them, and that's exactly what I did! I'm such a fuck up! I can't do anything right! I love them so much, yet they're in pain because of me! Maybe I should just leave... they'll be better off... they'll be happier. They don't need me...'

My heart shattered at his thoughts. Maybe we went too hard on him...

Felix and I were looking at him with heartbroken expression.

But all of us were shocked when we heard a resonating slap echo through the room.

Ji was standing in front of Chan with teary eyes and a red face as a red handprint slowly started to form on Chans' cheek.

"Don't you ever think those things again! Without you, none of us would be here! You made a mistake, so what?! We all make mistakes! You're our boyfriend, our mate, our etch, and one of the fathers of my babies! You are our alpha! You are our band leader! You hand-picked us! We need you! If you leave, nothing will be the same! We'll all end up dying again, and this will all start over! If you love us, then don't ever think of leaving us again! And don't ever think we could ever be happy without you! I love you, Chan, but you're right! You are stupid if you think we would last one day without you! NOW SIT ON THAT FUCKING BED SO I CAN CUDDLE MY BOYFRINDS AFTER I FUCKING FEED!" Ji's eyes flickered between purple and brown as he huffed his breaths, pointing at the bed.

Chan's eyes were blown wide as he slowly and hesitantly crawled into bed as Ji watched his every move like a predator stalking its prey.

Minho slowly got up and walked toward Ji, being careful not to make any sudden movements.

"Ji, baby, clam down. I understand that you feel hurt and betrayed and that your emotions are a little high right now, but it's also the hunger fuleing your anger. Please just take some calm breaths before you feed. You don't want to hurt anyone, right?" Minho asked with his hands up, signaling he wasn't a threat.

Ji listened and calmed down a bit before he started crying. He broke down, almost falling on the floor, but luckily Minho caught him in time and brought him to the bed.

He held Ji in his arms, between his legs as he rocked them soothingly side to side.

When Ji calmed down again, Min lifted his head gently to meet his eyes. They were still purple, but instead of him looking fierce and mad, he loocked cute pouty and sad.

His bottom lip was jutted out as it wobbled slightly, and his eyes looked like they were glistening with stars in them.

"I-im s-sorry a-alpha," Ji whimpered as he stared into Minhos eyes.

"It's okay, cub. But I'm not the alpha you need to apologize to. You really scared Chan," Ji slowly looked tward Chan, who was still frozen in place.

Ji hesitantly crawled his way into Chans lap, straddling him.

"I'm sorry, Alpha... I didn't mean to yell... just please don't leave me... please don't leave us?" Ji said in a whimper.

"No, I'm sorry, baby. I shouldn't have even thought of leaving you, any of you. I'm just in my head... I wouldn't ever leave you. I'm too selfish for that. I need you, our mates, and our babies more than you or anyone knows. All of you are my reason to keep going. The reason I haven't asked Innie to be my one is because if even one of you is missing, I wouldn't be able to go on. And you're right. If one of us weren't here, we would all die, and it would all start over again. But something we all agree on is that you are the common denominator in all of us. We all fell in love with you from the start. And the chance to have you is what really brought everyone together. Everyone might have their one person, but none of us would be here without you. You're strong, funny, sweet, bratty, sassy, sexy, beautiful, and I'm sorry that we never noticed in the past when you hurt yourself. I'm sorry we weren't there for you. But we're here now, and we're never leaving, okay?" Chan says softly as he strokes Ji's hair soothingly.
