It was midnight when the spaceship arrived in the town. Everyone was sleeping, so no one saw how it landed on top of a house. In the middle of the silence, a yellow light emerged from the spaceship and lighted up a room. Oliver was sleeping, so he didn't notice the light that made him levitate towards the spaceship. He only woke up when he was inside the spaceship. The light was so bright that he had to close his eyes several times to get used to it. It was then that he saw a three feet tall creature full of gray hair. His eyes, nose, and mouth were not visible, nor were his arms or legs. It was all covered with hair.

"Don't be scared," said the creature, "I am not here to harm you."

"Who are you? No, wait. What are you?" Oliver stood up in fear.

"I am Toby and I come from a planet called Omelette. I am a fluff, you're a human, right?" Oliver wasn't able to speak, his throat was dry, so he just nodded slightly. "Perfect!" The creature made a small jump and stayed levitating a few seconds before landing on the floor. "I have an important exam tomorrow about humans. Could you help me?"

"I guess."

"Perfect!" Toby made another jump and levitated again. When he reached the floor, he ran with his little legs towards a table and made some papers fly in front of him. "Here are the three most difficult questions. Question number one: why do humans lie?"

Oliver walked closer to him but stayed a few meters away. "What do you mean? You don't lie?"

"Fluffs are not able to lie, we can only tell the truth."

"That's strange" said Oliver, but then he thought that all of this was strange so he didn't give it too much importance. "Well, humans lie because of different reasons. I guess we lie to look good in front of others, to avoid something, to obtain something, to protect ourselves, to protect others or to keep something secret."

"I think I understand" Toby made a pen fly and wrote something on the flying papers. "Question number two: why do humans cry?"

"Cry? You also can't cry?" The fluff shook his head and Oliver took more time to think the answer. "We usually cry when we are sad. But we also cry when we are happy."

"I don't understand."

Oliver sighed and tried to explain himself better. "When we cry, we let tears go. Tears help to release emotions and express feelings. That's why we cry when we feel sad and when we feel very happy."

"Ok, I get it now." Toby wrote another thing on his flying papers with his flying pen. "Question number three: why do humans fight in wars?"

"That's easy, we fight for peace."

"Fight for peace?" The flying papers fell on the floor and, although he couldn't see his eye, Oliver felt that Toby was looking directly at him.

"Yes" said, recovering the fear he had felt at the beginning.

"That doesn't make sense."

"What do you mean?"

"You can't fight for peace. Peace means there is no war. You fight in war, so you can't fight for peace." Oliver was going to disagree when an alarm went on. "Oh no, I can't stay on earth any longer." Toby ran to the control table and pressed a button to stop the alarm. "Goodbye human, and thanks for the help" said before the yellow light made Oliver levitate towards his bedroom.

"Wait!" Oliver went to the window and saw the spaceship leave.

That night, he couldn't go back to sleep because he kept thinking about why humans do some things.

Para terminar he publicado la historia que presenté en narrativa en inglés. Este pequeño relato ha ganado el primer premio. Es la segunda historia que escribo en inglés y sigo sin entender como funcionan los diálogos. He hecho lo que he podido y he ganado. Espero que a vosotros también os haya gustado y os haya hecho pensar en porqué los humanos hacemos algunas cosas.
