:; And I'd give up forever to touch you
'Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be
And I don't want to go home right now.

Voltaire High Gymnasium, 3:46 PM
This afternoon, it was sports class. The students entered the gymnasium. The boys wore short blue shorts paired with white tank tops, which looked rather ridiculous.
On the other hand, the girls were assigned t-shirts and slightly too tight shorts, a situation equally absurd, though less so than for the boys.
While the boys took their positions on the court to play basketball, the girls headed towards the rope they were supposed to climb.
Observing the scene with a mix of curiosity and indignation, Lily-Rose turned to her friends. "Why aren't we playing with the boys ?" she asked, struck by the injustice of the situation.
In addition to this, they had to change in the bathroom, lacking proper locker rooms prepared by the school.
Annick sighed, exasperated. "Since the beginning of the year, we've been condemned to climb that darn rope every class, while the boys engage in all sorts of sports. It's the teacher who decided it," she declared with a resigned sigh.
Simone, with a sarcastic tone, chimed in, "We could almost leave the gym, and I bet the teacher wouldn't even notice." This remark elicited some laughter among them.
So they settled on the floor near the climbing rope, enthusiasm far from them. Their gazes wandered among the movements of the boys on the basketball court, under the distant supervision of the teacher.
Lily-Rose's gaze swept the room in search of a certain presence. Her eyes searched for Joseph among the players, but he was nowhere to be found. Eventually, she spotted him at the other end of the gym, sitting alone on a bench.
A glimmer of understanding crossed her eyes. She suddenly remembered why he wasn't on the court. Because of his one-eyed condition, he wasn't allowed to participate in sports activities.
Their eyes met for a moment. He stood there, a smirk on his lips. Lily-Rose felt a spike of irritation rise within her.
Why was he always there, looking at her like that ? As she stared at him, she shook her head, dismissing these thoughts. She had no time to waste thinking about him.
Michèle nervously looked around, watching the teacher's movements as he continued to watch the boys play basketball. "Maybe we should start climbing the rope before he notices we're not doing anything," she suggested quietly.
The other girls nodded in silence, getting up. Annick took the initiative to approach the climbing rope, closely followed by Simone, who positioned herself at the bottom to support her. Lily-Rose, on the other hand, hesitated for a moment, casting one last glance at Joseph, still isolated on the bench.
