The sun was slowly descending on the horizon, painting the sky with shades of orange and pink. Joseph and Lily-Rose walked side by side, their hands intertwined, as they made their way through the bustling streets to his home. Tonight was an important moment for them.

"Are you sure you're not too nervous ?" he asked, casting a glance at Lily-Rose.

She smiled softly, her eyes sparkling with anticipation and apprehension." A little, but isn't that normal ? I want to make a good impression."

Joseph squeezed her hand a little tighter. "Don't worry, she's going to love you. How could she not ?"

He opened the door, letting Lily-Rose enter first. The smell of home-cooked meals immediately enveloped them.

"Mom ? We're here !" he called out.

A woman with brown hair and kind eyes appeared in the kitchen doorway. She wiped her hands on her apron before stepping towards them, a bright smile on her lips.

"Joseph ! And you must be Lily-Rose." She extended her hand to the young girl. "I'm thrilled to finally meet you."

Lily-Rose took her hand, immediately feeling at ease. "Likewise, Mrs. Descamps. Joseph has told me a lot about you."

She chuckled softly. "I hope it wasn't all nonsense. But enough talking, come have a seat. Dinner is almost ready."

They sat down in the living room, where a relaxed atmosphere prevailed. Joseph shot Lily-Rose a knowing look, trying to dispel her last remaining worries.

During the meal, they talked about everything and nothing, exchanging anecdotes and laughter. Joseph's mother recounted some embarrassing stories about her son, eliciting laughter from Lily-Rose and amused protests from Joseph.

"Mom, you're really making me look like a fool," he joked, shaking his head.

"Oh, but you were such a lively child, that's all."

She turned to her guest. "And you, Lily-Rose, how did you find the strength to tame this rebel ?"

She blushed slightly. "I don't think I tamed him. I just think... we understand each other."

Joseph's mother nodded, visibly touched. "That's a beautiful way to look at things. I'm glad my son found someone like you."

After dinner, they moved to the living room for tea. The evening progressed quietly, in an increasingly intimate and comfortable atmosphere. Joseph felt it was the perfect moment to ask a question that was close to his heart.

He hesitated, choosing his words carefully. "Mom, you know, Lily-Rose and I have been together for a few weeks now. And... I wanted to ask you what you think about it."

His mother looked at him tenderly. "I think if you make each other happy, that's all that matters. Love is rare and precious. It doesn't matter where we come from or who we are, as long as we're sincere and respectful to each other."

Lily-Rose smiled, touched. "Thank you, Mrs. Descamps. Your words mean a lot to us."

"You're both adorable. Joseph, my angel, you've found a gem." She looked at them, her eyes full of sweetness.

Once the table was cleared, the two young lovers found themselves alone in the living room. Joseph took Lily-Rose's hand and gently pulled her towards the couch.

They sat side by side, a comfortable silence settling between them. Joseph draped an arm around Lily-Rose's shoulders, pulling her closer to him. She rested her head against his shoulder.

"You see, I told you it would go well," he murmured, gently stroking her arm.

She looked up at him, a serene smile on her lips. "Yes, you were right. Your mother is really lovely."

Joseph responded to her smile with tenderness. "She already loves you. I can see it in her eyes."

They remained like that for a few moments, basking in the comforting warmth of their closeness. Lily-Rose closed her eyes, letting herself be lulled by Joseph's gentle scent and the sensation of his fingers slowly sliding through her hair.

"Joseph," she finally whispered, breaking the silence.

"Yes, princess ?"

"I wanted to thank you for convincing me to come tonight. I was so nervous, but now, I feel relieved and happy."

He hugged her a little tighter, placing a kiss on her forehead. "You don't have to thank me. It was important to me that you meet my mother, and I knew you would get along well."

She nodded, a radiant smile on her lips. "Yes, you were right."

As their eyes met, a spark of affection and complicity shone between them. Joseph felt his heart beat a little faster, carried away by Lily-Rose's beauty and sweetness. Without a word, he leaned slowly towards her, capturing her lips in a tender but passionate kiss.

Lily-Rose responded to his embrace with the same intensity, losing all sense of time and space. Their breaths mingled in a gentle symphony, their hands exploring with desire the familiar contours of their bodies.

When they finally parted, their foreheads touching, a radiant smile lit up their faces. They remained like that, savoring the magical moment when their souls came together in perfect harmony.

As they snuggled against each other, a mischievous gleam suddenly sparkled in Joseph's eyes. He straightened up slightly, locking his gaze with Lily-Rose's with a teasing twinkle.

"Say it," he murmured softly.

Lily-Rose looked at him, perplexed. "Say it ? What are you talking about ?"

Joseph smirked playfully. "What you said before."

She furrowed her brows, trying to understand. "What ?"

"That you hate me," he added, his voice teasing but tinged with a slight hint of uncertainty.

A flash of understanding crossed Lily-Rose's eyes. Without a word, she slipped onto Joseph's lap, moving closer to him until their faces were mere inches apart.

"I hate you..." she declared with a small smile, her eyes sparkling with mischief, the words flowing like a caress. She repeated it, over and over. Like a mantra. An enchantment. A shield against what she truly felt.

A playful smile spread across Joseph's lips as he captured her lips in a passionate kiss. Their hearts beat as one, swept away by the whirlwind of their emotions and unconditional love. Nothing else mattered.

"I hate you so much that I can't think of anything else."
