Snow fell outside. In her room, on Christmas Eve, Lily-Rose prepared for the dreaded dinner alone with her fiancé. The day had been filled with preparations for the next day's festivities, but it was this particular moment that filled her with apprehension.

After a relaxing bath, she wrapped herself in a silky robe, then settled in front of her vanity. Her gaze lost itself in the mirror, staring at her reflection with a mixture of doubt and worry.

Next to her, laid out on the bed, was the carefully chosen red dress for the occasion, a symbol of the commitment she was about to seal.

Her fingers absentmindedly caressed the luxurious fabric of the dress, while her mind wandered between memories of the past and fears of the future.

As she lost herself in her thoughts, the light sound of a knock on the door made her jump. It was her father. He entered with a stern expression, as usual when it came to serious conversations.

"Lily-Rose, my child," he said firmly, "Guillaume will arrive shortly. You must be perfect tonight, honor your family."

She lowered her eyes, her father had high ambitions for this union and wanted to impress the future son-in-law.

"Of course, father. I going to get ready," she murmured softly, nodding without daring to look him in the eyes. Her father gave her a scrutinizing look before nodding and leaving the room.

Once he had left the room and descended the stairs, Lily-Rose stood up abruptly, her footsteps echoing on the parquet floor as she half-trampled her red dress now lying on the ground.

The decision was made : she was going to run away. And the steady ticking of the clock cruelly reminded her of the reality of her situation.

She headed to her wardrobe, her trembling fingers searching for warm and practical clothes. She put on a thick shirt and dark pants, hurriedly dressing as if her life depended on it.

With a warm hat on her head, she slipped toward the window, her heart pounding. She knew she had to leave, to escape from this gilded cage in which she had been tried to be confined.

She would not bend to her father's will and attend this cursed dinner, where she would be forced to play the role of a well-behaved doll for the man she was destined for.

The gravel crunched under her feet as she finally touched the ground, her rapid breath revealing her growing anxiety. Without a backward glance, she started to run, her footsteps echoing in the silence of the night.
