:; I could be a better boyfriend than him
I could do the shit that he never did
Up all night, I won't quit
Thinking I'm gonna steal you from him.

Exit from Voltaire High, 5:33 PM

The snow fell softly over Voltaire High, blanketing the buildings in its white coat. It was December, and the atmosphere was charged with a wintry magic.

As the bell rang, signaling the end of classes for the day, Lily-Rose stepped out of the school, wrapped in her winter coat. Joseph, lingering in the courtyard, watched her for a moment before deciding to approach her.

He felt that it was time to have an important conversation with her. Stepping toward her with determination, his shoes crunching on the fresh snow, he called out to her.

"Princess," he called when he reached her. She turned, surprised to see him approaching her. Their eyes met, and she felt her heart beat a little faster.

Since the kiss she had given him a few days earlier, she had struggled to banish thoughts of him from her mind. "Pirate," she replied, trying to mask her embarrassment.

He stopped in front of her, a serious expression on his face. He knew he had to address the subject that had unsettled both of them since that day.

"We need to talk," he declared firmly.

Lily-Rose nodded, feeling nervous but curious about what he had to say.

"I want to talk about the kiss," he said without preamble.

She swallowed, feeling herself blush despite her efforts. Their exchange had been so sudden, so unexpected, but she couldn't deny that she had enjoyed it.

She felt her face flush with warmth, her cheeks taking on a rosy hue. "I don't know what you're talking about," she murmured, her heart pounding in her chest.

"Don't play games," he said, moving closer to her with a mixture of challenge and tenderness in his voice. "You know exactly what I'm talking about. That kiss you gave me in the hallway."

"I... I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me," she stammered. She bit her lower lip, feeling trapped by her own emotions.

He looked at her, his gaze intense and probing. He seemed to be searching for something in her eyes, something she wasn't sure she understood herself.

"Don't be sorry. It was... surprising, but not unpleasant." Lily-Rose looked at him, surprised by his response. He seemed almost... grateful ?

Lily-Rose felt her heart leap in her chest as she drowned in Joseph's eye. She had spent so much time hating him, seeing him as her enemy, but now she was beginning to wonder if maybe he could be something else.
