Snape was fuming as they made their way out of Lupin's classroom and down to the dungeons.

His fast paced strides and heavy footsteps made Hally to want to trail slowly behind him but out of fear of his wrath, she didn't. She couldn't see his face but she could still feel the anger and tension that was just radiating off of his person.

Fiery Snape was not someone she enjoyed being around.

After reluctantly trying to catch up to him she finally broke the silence with a small tease. "I really am sorry for being late. I didn't realize that you would be so upset."

That jest seemed to set something off in him as he abruptly stopped walking nearly causing Hally to collide into his form and swiftly wipe the small smirk that was starting to form clear off of her face.

His face was hardened and his darkened eyes found her own anxious ones. "You have misread me. I am not upset that you were late, Potter. I am indifferent to your presence, it is the disrespect of making a commitment and going back on it without informing me."

She tried to decipher what he meant when he said he was indifferent to her. He sought her out almost as much as she him.

This behaviour just confirmed her earlier theory that he was being rude on purpose and trying to find things to get upset at her about.

Hally's brows pulled together, "I didn't go back on anything. I was simply late after an odd defence against the dark arts class. It was our first practical lesson of the year and professor Lupin just wanted to make sure that I was alright before I left— as he explained."

Hally then pursed her lips in annoyance as Snape stuck his nose up while his pupils narrowed. "I am certain that Lupin was very concerned.' He said sarcastically. 'Convenient however, that you were the only one he checked in on after the class ended."

"You're just making assumptions ! You don't even know what the lesson was about or what happened !" Hally defended.

"Oh don't I ?' Snape growled as he leered down at her. 'Given the wardrobe that was in the front of the classroom I'm going to presume he started the unit on boggarts. Given the nature of them I find it unusual that you were the only one that had difficulty with the content that was being taught."

"What are you insinuating ? That professor Lupin kept me back on purpose ?" Hally asked incredulously.

Snape's nostrils flared at the thought of Lupin trying to get close to her. "You are so callow and because of that very gullible. Just because someone is seemly polite to you does not mean their intentions are good."
