"I suppose I forgot to tell you that a bit before Christmas break Lupin offered to teach me the patronus charm after I fell off of my broom." Hally admitted warily.

Snape's nostrils flared. "Ahh, so I'm not the only one who omits the truth." He quickly let go of her waist- much to Hally's displeasure and stared down at her with a look of contempt.

"Don't be mad ! This was before I figured out that Lupin was the werewolf !" Hally tried to defend.

"Mmm yes of course,' Snape started sarcastically, 'so now that you know what he is you still somehow ended up allotting him your time and permitting him to teach you the charm ?"

Hally rolled her eyes as Snape started to walk away from her. "Professor, he didn't really teach me anything. I tried the charm once and then passed out. I wouldn't exactly call that a success. Not to mention he basically cornered me after class and asked about the lessons we had prior agreed to."

"So he forced the knowledge unto you ?" Snape asked while halting his steps and swiftly turning around to face her once more with a stern expression.

Hally was taken aback by the question. She hadn't meant to throw Lupin to the dogs like that. "No...I wanted to know more about the spell and how it worked when he told me that he had caught another boggart for me to practice on."

"That worked out quite well for you then I see." He snarked back with a small upturn of his lip.

"Yeah it worked out great, I loved becoming unconscious in the midst of a patronus practice session taught by a werewolf." The obvious sarcasm in her voice caused a quick smirk to cross over Snape's lips before it quickly vanished.

"He also told me something odd." She continued.

"Concerning what ?"

"He mentioned that he was friends with my dad and also knew Sirius Black back in their school days." She confessed.

Any trace of humour that was previously on Snape's face immediately disappeared as it hardened rather rapidly and his eyes darkened to their usual charcoal colour when he was enraged.

"Why on earth was that brought up ?!" His deep voice echoed off of the walls of the classroom causing Hally to take a subtle step back.

Even though she was aware that his anger wasn't directed at her she didn't relish in being on the receiving end of it due to their proximity.

"Do you remember when I was in the hospital wing and I tried to bring up the fact that I heard my mother's screams before I passed out from the dementors during the last few incidents I've had with them ?"

"Potter I don't wish to converse about this-"Snape started but Hally hastily cut him off.

"- This time I heard my dad's voice telling my mum to grab me and run while he tried to hold Voldemort off."
